paypal receipt says: Jan 25, 2008 11:46 AM
I got in about 30 mins after you did, I sure hope I get one...
-
May I also suggest not doing it in a glossy sleeve? I think the sleeve should be similar to the booklet on the CD.
Just a thought!
-
I'm in for splitting this with you, how much were you looking to spend on your part?
-
The little bit at the end with Ben jumping on the 4x12 and then smashing the headstock of his guitar through it was pretty cool too...
-
Yeah, I saw them open for fear before, only 6 people in the audience and they thought it was our fault there weren't more people there so they started having a go at everyone, the guitarist is the biggest fucking prick ever. And then to make a biad situation worse the gave up half way through their second song and told us to fuck off.
Oh and The Chariot are fucking amazing live, Jake Ryan did a 25 minute drum solo with operatic score to finish off the set they did at rock city
their singer = totally drugged. i haven't seen him play a show sober. not that playing drunk/high is a bad thing, but when it gets to the point where you are a dick, that's a problem.
I'm not sure whether he was high/drunk/whatever, but the only time I've seen a show when the frontman was being a dick, was when I saw Daughters in 2005. The singer was a total jackass the whole night, but it made their set that much more enjoyable.
It sucks that I haven't seen them since...
P.S. I saw the Chariot twice in 2004 sometime (my friends band was touring with them) and after sitting through about half their set the first night, I took off, and didn't bother to stick around at all the next night.
-
I'm seeing these guys next week, certainly going to be picking this up. Hopefully they've got both colors on hand.
Is he playing with a backing band? I've seen him a couple times and he (Owen Ashworth) was solo both times.
I've got no idea, I just saw the name on a local venue's website, realized that I had the night off work, and decided to go.
-
I too have had the incredible misfortune of seeing them live. They're quite possibly worse sounding than the Chariot...
-
I'd be in for Alaska and Colors, i'd probably buy the self titled as well, even though I don't care much for that record.
If any of them come out, I would just hope they get a better treatment than the Silent Circus 12". That thing felt like it was really rushed to me...

"Jokes" is such a fantastic record, easily one of my favorites. I was slightly let down by the split with Coffin Dancer though.
Do you have any of their other stuff?
I have the split 5" w/ Arse Moreira, and the Logs 7" (side-project). I think they are putting out a new split 7" soon as well.
Yeah, i've got the Arse Moreira split as well, I don't have the Logs 7" though. The Kidcrash are a criminally underrated band in my opinion.

Mail came twice today, apparently.
Whatever, I just got:
Pelican - Pelican (Black, 1st press, of 1000)
WOO!
-
Kidcrash/Coffin Dancer - 30505 10"
Kidcrash - Jokes LP

Hooray!
Jesu - Jesu (Pic Disc of 1000)

Can't you just run you're lawn mower through your cutlery draw instead?
Wait a second, your screen name is "heavyheavylowlow" and you're making fun of how the The Locust sounds? Something is incredibly wrong with this picture...

I got my Envy/Mono package from TRL in the mail today, but they messed up my free choice thing and sent me Mono's "Walking Cloud And blah blah blah" album instead of EITS "The Earth Is blah blah blah" but I emailed them and they responded really quickly saying that they'd ship it out today, and for me to ship the Mono one back, so it's all good.
You should keep that Mono record, it's fucking bombastic.
That's the problem, I gladly would've kept it, but i've already got it. I've got most of Mono's discography, they're a fantastic band.
On the plus side, todays mail consisted of:
Old Man Gloom - Christmas (1st US Press, on A/B Black C/D Gold, of 192)

Eh, I figured that people here would be cool enough to know that I was watching the auction and not screw me over like that, having "dibs" on it, I guess... Either way, I don't think it's too bad a price either.
EDIT: I caved and picked up the version with the slipmat. I figured that i'm probably never going to come across an original non-pic disc version, so this is the next best thing.

Hey, what does everyone think about this?
There's another copy on ebay right now going for $49.95 + $10 shipping, but this is a BIN, meaning I could get it flat out for $60, plus the slipmat. Basically, i'm wondering if any of you think I should take this, or wait for something else to come around, I'm not really sure what a common price for this is.

Jesu - Sun Down/Sun Rise on Clear with Yellow Haze (1st press, of 300, exclusive to the Aurora Borealis Webstore)
-
I've got a black copy that i'm looking to unload. I picked up a color set when Virgil was doing that random Christmas sale thing so I don't really need the black one anymore, it's unplayed except for Hot Damn! and that was played probably once.

Brainworms/Dynamite Arrows - Split 7" - Blue Marble /100
Brainworms/Dynamite Arrows - Split 7" - Yellow Marble /180
Brainworms/Dyanmite Arrows - Split 7" - Black /200
Old Man Gloom - Seminar III: Zozobra - Clear w/White Streaks "Ape Cum" /200 (2nd Press)

I picked up the DBL Picture disc at a Jesu show back in November, maybe it's worth scouting around a few distros to see if you can still get a hold of a copy.
Any suggestions on distros to check? I look at every one I come across and no luck. I'd be willing to pay shipping from the UK or whatever if that was my only choice...

Also, what you guys are referring to as "pig squeals" are actually called pinched harmonics. I think the term "pig squeals" came from someone misunderstaning the phrase "pick squeals".
Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone here is talking about the vocal style known as a "pig squeal." I'm pretty sure nobody here would mistake a pig squeal for a pinch harmonic...

Ordered Owen and Gregor Samsa, hope I was in early enough for the Gregor Samsa, and that was the only Owen album I didn't own.
