Divine Mother off of SGNL might be one of their best songs.
-
I've been jamming my Shades of the Swarm box set a lot today, and I forgot how awesome everything from the demo to SGNL is. Anyone else feel the same way?
-
I just got a shipping confirmation from Aural Exploits for both albums, which is interesting because the "New Album" isn't supposed to be released until March.
-
my friend showed this to me today and it's really great.

I liked the one with the old guys and Kenny G (Audi).

One of my favorite sax players. Are these generally cheaper than the Analogue Productions and Music Matters Blue Note jazz reissues? Also, any idea on who remastered/cut these?

This is a local metal band called MAKE. They're sludgy and epic sounding (think ISIS, Sleep, Neurosis, etc.)

Just put in an order. Looking forward to hearing the Capsule LP.

Go to Acoustic Sounds. They probably sell any version of Kind of Blue worth listening to.

If you have an .edu email account you can get amazon prime for free for a year

I own several SL records and do agree about the quality. Its just that their 2xLP's normally sell for about 24-25 without some kind of package deal (18 for that Earth reissue). 170/7 is still about 24 bucks each.
I'm really just bummed that there's probably no way I'll get this record without coughing up 170 bucks or buying it from a flipper.

REALLLLLY digging the TCK and Big Kids LPs I just got!
-
I hate to be that guy, but 170 for 7 LP's? You'd think that they would discount it a little bit more. I just wish I could buy this on its own.

Its available at Music Fear Satan

really into portraits of past lately, i picked up their LP at in your ear two weeks ago and it hasn't left my turntable
Have you heard their Cypress Dust Witch 12"? It is also amazing.

Again, if it was medical care or water we're talking about I'd be right there with you. But you don't need records. Still, it's everyone's right to complain about prices, and this is a record collecting forum so it's silly of me to care that you think it's expensive.
I will say this though: there's a reason you don't find high-quality audiophile pressings of great jazz records on pink and blue splatter vinyl. Aside from being remarkably silly and pointless to the music contained therein, black vinyl just sounds better. I know people will say with all sorts of authority that this is not true. I'm here to tell you, with no authority by my own 36 years of experience to back me up, that 180 gram black virgin vinyl (assuming proper recording, mastering, pressing, etc.) sounds noticeably better than color vinyl in any of its myriad forms.
When black is an option, I chose black, even if it's the most common color.
You do make a good point. I guess I shouldn't be complaining about the price of this LP when I've paid $50 for some of the Nat "King" Cole reissues by Analogue Productions.

On The Might Of Princes. can't believe they weren't mentioned yet.
This. Especially Where You Are and Where You Want to Be

$25 isn't TOO bad for a 2xLP on 180 gram, but its still a bit pricey.
-
Is this any good? I thought their first two were great but they lost me at Blue Lambency Downward.
-
I know there has to be some Low fans here. Kranky just put out their Christmas album on vinyl.

It looks like Clean Plate still has copies of Y left. http://www.cleanplate.com/buy.html
