  1. I wanted to come back and say how nice this release turned out. Like the label hate the label I don't care, but this is a VERY nice release. I never thought I would see this on vinyl and to have it like this is just great. A very nice release. Please release the rest of the back catalog.

Would love to hear the story of getting the OK for this release and how Portnoy felt about it.

  2. Fun facts:

    1. After the commercial failure of Falling Into Infinity, their record label gave the band free rein over their new album's direction, which led the band to finally finish the story begun with "Metropolis, Pt. 1" from Images and Words.

    2. The album's recording was kept secret, to keep fans from meddling with the band's recording, and to surprise them. Fans had previously requested the band to make the sequel to the first part, but they had not yet been able (nor had they originally intended one to be made).

I see you are nuts like me about this band. But FII gets a bad rap and I would LOVE to see it on vinyl as well.

  3. Yeah dude, I bet Dave is totally jealous of not being able to put out DREAM THEATER RECORDS.

So, this is a real thread, huh? People are actually excited about paying $30 to listen to two whole LPs of 12 minute "symphonic metal" tracks with drum triggers and MIDI string parts? How embarrassing.

Wow I bet everything you enjoy is total gold. It's sad that thinking like this is around. Opinions really are like ass holes. Everyone has one and most of them stink. Don't buy it if you don't want it. It will give you more money for the next Pedro the Lion 7".

  4. Oh Shit, is this a joke. My all time fav. band and their best album. This has to be a dream. I can't believe this. What a great day.

We even included the locked groove from the end of the last track. We spent alot of time on attention to detail. Thanks for the support

Do we have any details on how many are being printed? Is there going to do a limited run? Any colors? And any plans to print the back catalog as well? PLEASE

  5. Im honestly shocked anyone on this board cares about this band at all. Not talking shit, just very surprised.

This is the type of shit I listen to. I really like COLD. Not gonna get this on vinyl but still like the band a lot. This board does not get a lot of "mainstream" music posts, but it is the best place I have found to discuss records. I was also surprised to see COLD in a thread title, but I remember someone asking an Owl City pressing question not that long ago :)

  6. Trying to get any info anyone has any the Dream Theater pressings of Images and Words. I see that there was a Brazil pressing and a Korean pressing and I believe a pressing from Greece. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is one better than the other? I guess what is the difference? Also, is it the same is Awake? I just am trying to figure out what is what before I drop $100+ on each one.

  7. I like to hear about others stories so here is mine...

So I was in Pittsburgh, PA today and decided to hit up Jerry's records. I was fired up. Records everywhere. The place is big. And the selection was vast. Huge. But I didn't find anything super. They might not have the record you are looking for, but if they do they will have 5 copies to look through. I know if I were to spend 5 hours there I could have found a few gems. But I could not get used to the lay out. Too many different categories and sub categories. Then Top seller sections. The place seems to be too large to use the current file system its using. Anyway, cool store and worth a visit if not to see the size and the eclectic selection. Prices are good. 4-8 bucks per record and many lower. Seem to have a few rare items, but eBay seems to eat most of them.
