  1. washing and wearing an autographed piece of clothing is about as stupid as playing baseball with a ball signed by Babe Ruth.

Damnit, it's my shirt, and wear it I will! But I guess washing isn't absolutely necessary...

Also, Babe Ruth is way dead, and way more famous, and I'm pretty sure all members and ex-members of TBS are still touring. Can't remember what Rubano is doing this days...

  2. Wow that is ridiculous.

By the way I'm getting half the record price plus shipping. I think that's fair.

Yeah, I'd say that's totally fair. I got JEW Bleed American shipped to me in nothing but a grocery bag last year. The jacket had creases in every corner but the vinyl was ok (amazingly). I only paid $23 including shipping and they refunded me $7, so I can't be too upset. I mean, I would have paid $15 for Bleed American with a creased jacket if I saw it in a record store. On the other hand, what the hell is wrong with someone who ships a record across the country in a grocery bag?

More importantly, how did you find that for $23 ppd? Damn. Cursed luck, apparently. I thought I got a deal for $35...then I got it signed, and the night I did I found out about the repress, and sold for $70 on ebay. Only to spend $55ish on the new one...haha...not much money saved.

I've also had a grocery bag ship...well, it had one flimsy strip of cardboard on each side, but it was La Dispute's somewhere, and it's in pieces now. I'll make it into an art project at some point.

  3. was the shirt made by sean-john by chance?

may sound like a bad joke now, but truth is, that would be hilarious.

Hahaha. You sir, have earned my +1.

This made me legitimately LOL, thanks. And I could check, but I highly doubt it since it's a TBS shirt.

And I get my records signed now, but Warner Bros. doesn't have their fucking s/t out yet, so I was a bit SOL on that trip. Maybe I can meet them again next time...God, barely got to talk at all, those fans were rabid pricks who could care less about actually talking with the members. Just wanted a sig, and get the hell out. Also, apparently they're all vinyl collectors themselves, so the S/T will be out eventually, for anyone who cares or doubted that in the first place.

And I first got it signed on that New Again tour, and I wasn't collecting records or anything else at that point, and wasn't planning on getting all the sigs at that point, either. W/e, no regrets.

  4. I'd love to get all that text on the second one typed out. I can read most of it, and it makes me wonder how old he was at the time. It seems quite juvenile or naive (i mean that in the best way possible) and piques my curiosity to somehow hear these.

"So I decided to make a motion picture soundtrack, were it is. It's a collection of bad at best recordings that have been building up on cassette in my shed. These songs were recorded on marginal or worse tape recorders thus the marginal quality. Pretend like it was a choice we made and credit to style. I'm busy recording a sequal now. This all really boils down to some thing to do. The songs on the end of either side had a tendency to get cut off, due the master length of the tapes I used. Well get ready with the fast forward button. Talk to you later. I can say that I know everyone I'm giving this to. XOXO.

Numb to Nothing + Isaac Brock"

Thanks, I wanted to read that, too! Definitely funny, Although I'd probably agree with what he's saying here, if this is way early stuff...Lonesome is my fave, but Sad Sappy just sucked imo.

  5. i don't get why people are so worked up. like the records are going to be destroyed from being on carpet for three seconds. you don't like it on the carpet don't buy it and don't waste your and his time commenting on it. let the man sell some records.

    agreed.

Also: feel free to send me a price on that two tongues or Modest mouse fruit blahblah. Not extremely interested, but I'd buy for the right price, if it'd help you out. Good luck. (Oh, and if you do--PM)

  6. Best to worst:

    New Again

    Louder Now

    Tell All Your Friends

    Taking Back Sunday

    Where You Want To Be

Wow...New Again? They played a 19 song set (i think) when I saw them, and not one from New Again. Didn't think anybody liked that one. Glad someone appreciates it, though--not a waste.

  7. if it's one of your prized possessions and washing it when you wear it is obviously ruining it....why would you wear it?

    legit question.

If I can't wear it anymore, then it's no longer a prized possession. It's a t-shirt, I'd feel kinda stupid hanging it on the wall of stuffing it in a drawer somewhere. I also prize my vinyl copy of deja entendu, but that doesn't mean I'm going to hang it on a wall and never play it for fear of scratching it. Maybe that doesn't parallel exactly, but you get what I mean.

  8. I just saw TBS last night (amazing!), and got shaun and john to sign my shirt. It now has all nine signatures from all the central members from TAYF on. But...some are fading. They get worse with each wash cycle. Anyone have any tips on how to protect them, while still being able to wear and wash the shirt sporadically? I figure there has to be some sort of craft store cover up or something...

Thanks a ton for any help! This is one of my most prized possessions, so I'd love to preserve it as long as possible.

  9. Do you have a first pressing with the purple poster? I've been looking for that one for a bit.

Also: here, hear 1 has a mini-CD, though, if you care about that. And I have here, hear II with a green cover. I'm trying to hang onto it until I can trade it for one with a blue cover, but feel free to PM me an offer, if you'd like. It would just have to be high for me to accept.

I have all of the 4 most common colors of Somewhere, so let me know if you want prices.

  10. (Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I didn't really know where to post this.)

Wondering if this is worth anything. Can't find one for sale/sold on ebay, popsike, or collectors frenzy. It's a single LP, and has this blue writing on the front and liner notes in blue on the back cover.

The pressing number is SHVL 804. Although another version, with no blue writing, has this same number, and that's the only thing coming up in results.

I'd like to know if anyone has any info on this release, or where I can look to find info besides the places I already checked.

    Thanks for any help!

  11. i have the TA/LD pressings

    I am looking for

    Vancouver(any pressing)

Here, Hear vol. I. II. and III. (any pressing)

    Untitled 7 inch

    Somewhere at the Bottom

I sent you a PM about somewhere...interested? and good luck finding I and III on vinyl--to my knowledge, it doesn't exist. I has a mini-CD, though, if you care about that. And, tbh, good luck finding the untitled and II as well--those seem to be pretty rare and fetch $50ish each. maybe more for untitled.

But like I said, I have all of the 4 most common colors of Somewhere, so let me know if you want prices.

  12. Didn't see that you were new when you first posted this...here's what I've found through the board for pricing:

BEST: ebay. Check current listings, but also check the "completed listings" section on the side. Sometimes there might not be much info, but that's how you can see what the record is actually selling for, and they're all recent.

Also check popsike.com and collectorsfrenzy.com. Just make sure you rank the results according to the most recent so you don't price a record based on a sale 5 years ago. These aren't as good b/c I've actually seen that at least popsike has been wrong before, and they only log listings sporadically.

As a last resort with no other options, post here, like you did. Or use search in the sell/trade section to look up your album, and see what people are buying/selling for on here.

    Hope that helps.

  13. Anyone notice if D.R.U.G.S. is selling their 7"?

yeah, as much as i hate to admit it, i'm wondering the same thing.

I love DRUGS. Haven't gotten to see them live yet, and no, they're not as good as Chiodos (I didn't really listen to the other original bands to compare to), but I like it, and I'm proud of it!
