So I bought a re-release of Marvin Gaye's 1976 album "I Want You" at Waterloo in Austin, got back to Ft. Worth and dropped the needle on side one only to hear some bass-heavy bullshit hood beat and shitty rapping. I didnt recognize the voices on the track but i think the hook was something like "rip it up"

Side 2 is correctly pressed Marvin Gaye. WTF.

Its on Tamla/Motown. I cant take it back to the store cuz im 300 miles away. How should I go about this?

I havent liked any of their albums since Ride the Lightning. I think now with a crazy new bass player they might have some steam going with playing their thrashier shit...

Just watched Some Kind of Monster for the first time and I cant believe what a flaming piece of flying shit the creation of that album was...Im surprised I made it all the way through that horrible film. the colored vinyl presses are bootlegs. also, Melon Collie was only ever released on vinyl in the UK. there was never a US pressing.

Ok the original release of Mellon Collie was supposed to be only 5,000 but they actually pressed something like 15000-18000 numbered copies out on Hut(UK) and Virgin records (US).

Then it got repressed in 1998 with unnumbered copies that have flimsier covers.

I keep seeing this 3lp set pop up on ebay with new colors like every fuckin month i feel like. At first I thought they only did black, then i saw some yellows in there, and now theres red copies up for sale. Im assuming all these are unnumbered mystery represses?? The one thats up now is on the Hut label. Anybody know whats up with these?

They were great but I always felt a little ripped off every time i bought them...i guess it seemed like i was getting so much less weight from that deliciously crispy center ball of fluffy crackling rice goodness....mmmmmm......
