Pombagira - Iconoclast Dream LPs are now available in the USA at Fallen Empire, imported from the UK by Mordgrimm. This duo plays a brand of fuzzy, repetitive sludge with a heavy emphasis on guitar tone. 'Iconoclast Dream' is a single 42 minute track based around a central riff and is heavily influenced by voodoo. Parallels to Sleep's 'Dopesmoker' are easily drawn here, but instead of bongs, voodoo dolls. After 1 listen this album had me re-playing the main hook over and over in my head, and I'm already anxious to spin it again.
