  1. Saw them last night in San Diego... they had a full table. From what I remember: 5 different shirts, a hoodie, every LP except Seminar III (all for $15, except Christmas Eve I/II, which was $10), a shitload of CDs, and then some shit from what I assume was Aaron's collection: Euro press of Seminar II (which includes Zozobra/Seminar III as a second LP), orig Christmas press, Level Plane Oceanic test press ($100), Oceanic Remix box ($100), a Mammifer LP, and the print from the LA show they played at the Echo...

... oh, and they also fucking slayed so hard. Only like 40 people showed up to Soda Bar, which is sad, but they destroyed it like there were 4000 people there.

  2. Ordered immediately via credit card, but no Kung Fu receipt yet. Took a few hours when I ordered the Ashes & Fire deluxe set a while back, so I'm just going to be patient.

Plus, something tells me they're going to cancel duplicate orders first, disperse remaining product to those who ordered, and THEN send out order cancellation emails.

  3. Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

Pj Harvey - To Bring You My Love

Betty Davis - They Say I'm Different

Metallica - And Justice For All

Megadeth - So Far, So Good, So What

    Motorhead - Iron Fist

Eno and Fripp - No Pussyfooting

A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms

    Nick Cave - Nocturama

Nick Cave - Dig Lazarus Dig

    Grinderman - Grinderman

... all for $100 and some change.

  4. There seems to be a lot of hate for the fair here, which I don't get. If you like crate digging, finding hidden gems, etc... the fair is amazing. If you're looking for new stuff, it's not the best use of your time. There are a few tables where guys overprice shit, but they account for a minority of the booths there. I've had some success haggling with dealers to bring the price down on multiple item purchases.

  5. From what I understand, Hydra Head dudes are close friends with Vacation dudes (and I think Aaron Turner has some money vested in Vacation) but they're not the 'same people'.

Vacation is a rad store and the guys who work there are super nice. Their in-store selection is incredible and carefully picked. Are they a few bucks more expensive? Yeah, a few, but honestly... I don't mind paying a few extra bucks to keep a unique record store open. Going to Vacation is always a highlight when visiting LA... those dudes are just trying to make a living selling records.

Hydra Head as a label... is a different story.
