  1. certainly not too good to be true, in fact i dont think i could take $200 as that feels a little messed up with th repress and all but I would definitely work something out. heres a link to the photo with my username below it http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/341/photolvj.jpg
  2. Theres 7 days left in the auction and its already at $66 which id be perfectly content with, even in the case that say the auction ended tomorrow. So, harassment much appreciated, trying to turn people away from buying from me also much appreciated, but it already at a price that Im satisfied with so I guess I shouldnt have to deal with the select few dudes who wanna make my life a shitstorm anymore. At least not in this thread in particular. Id like to just be able to get along with you all, but the worlds not an ideal place. I'll be around regardless.
  3. I just invoiced him at $9 to be sure it covered base shipping costs and then agreed to ship out for the records price plus quoted shipping, so, I guess if its any more than that I'll just go ahead and pay outta pocket. Sending a new invoice for exact shipping after taking it to the post to get an exact quote would be a lot more wasteful im my eyes- taking up both of our time - whereas shipping it out for $9 will get it out faster and if I lose a couple of bucks outta my pocket to pay for registered/insurance or whatever the most fitting precautionary service is, so be it. Thanks for the responses guys!
  4. Awesome, thanks for the response man. I'll just invoice him $7.50 on the purchase then and cover any extra costs out of pocket just for saftey precautions. I appreciate your help!
  5. Hey I just had a question I was hoping someone here could help me answer due to the fact that I don't have a post office or mailing scale at my ready. I'm shipping a record (which is a bit heavy due to the double lp and hefty gatefold) and I don't wanna keep the guy waiting on an invoice so i was looking for a ballpark estimate from someone else who's shipped a double lp from the us to ca. If it ends up costing me a few more than what I quote him - big deal, I'll cover it. I just wanna get his record out asap so a general shipping quote to invoice him with would be great. also, in the past I've sent internationally via USPS and the post office wouldnt let me do delivery confirmation (they said the customs number could be used to track it UNTIL it hit customs but that then there was no way to locate it) so Im wondering if theres some alternative service that would allow tracking across the border from my hands to his doorstep. Of course, I already plan on covering insuraning fees outta my pocket because it cost him a chunk of change and Id hate for something to happen to it in the post. I'll also cover any other extra shipping services that ensure the safest arrival. I only plan to invoice him for the base shipping costs, all the extras Ill pay for due to the fact that it would suck for both of us if anything happened. So yeah, main question, in your opinion whats the most affordable and reliable way to ship to canada and are there any other special services I should add to the shipping to ensure that his record arrives safe and sound? Also, can you ship media mail outside of the us? Thanks for you guys response, I woulda just calculated it over at usps but i dont know the dimensions nor the wait and just getting a general idea would save me a trip to the post office for a quote, and save him a day that would otherwise be spent making the payment and me having to ship out the next day. Thanks so much guys, I appreciate your feedback on this highly.
  6. Right, right. Already confessed to that. I've also already shipped out a handful of records and do my absolute best to ensure complete customer satisfaction. All apologies for changing my user name because a) all the funds for this are going into an account dedicated to a diy label myself and a couple friends are trying to start and i got called out because I fell off the face of the earth and didnt have constant access to a computer for a while. I shouldnt need to explain my life hassles to strangers nor do i need to make furthur excuses. I've already made a couple successful trades/purchases/sales right here on VC, as well as a couple on ebay, and two or three over on discogs just recently as ponyexpress (as of now thats the title of the project dedicated to raising the money to start said diy label, spellitoutlikeoh is what i used to use when i collected and modified instruments as well as vintage and rare twin lens reflex cameras but I wanted something solely for this vinyl project - not my things-i-like-to-fix-up-and-play-with-as-a-hobby pawn shop). Of course none of them have feedback yet because I just started this. Stuff doesnt generally sell the second you list it, and furthermore youve got to send an invoice, make the transaction and then theres that shipping window. So when items arrive, if my service was worth positive feedback, great - thats what I aim for. and if its not, i do my best to accomodate or refund/return. Maybe that feedback will help you to rest easier. maybe not. and hey, it could be good, could be bad, could be mediocrity at its finest. Why dont we just wait until those packages arrive and see what theyve got to say about it themselves? Cause my word clearly means nothing and so far, everyone whos been bad mouthing me, hasnt actually dealt with me. I'm sorry for offending anyone, but I think a lot what this forum has to offer is super awesome and seeing as how I'm pretty in love with vinyl, I to get more involved with it in other topics besides sales/trades as well, I was just trying to unload stuff to save up for a pressing cause we all know its not cheap! Point blank, Im not leaving the board. I wont "lie" (get a new username dedicated to the small DIY label project we're trying to fund/try and avoid being harassed in most every one of my threads because I backed out of a trade that I just wasnt worth giving up what I had for what I was being offered. So I apologize for that, somethingvinyl, if it gets you off my back, its yours. If I need to prove something, sure. I just want to be a part of a community dedicated to one of things that I love most and for that reason, I think I'll choose to stay and just show anyone who cares to test me that theyll get just what they ordered, just how they liked it.
  7. Im not a bold faced liar, and even if you guys are to stubborn for me to prove myself to you. I will make all efforts to prove myself to the rest of your board because Im a genuine kid and I like that theres a place to discuss vinyl, buy and most importantly trade records cause the record store sucks. On that note, if I WERE a bold faced liar, mucking up your community... At least I'd be unique from the vast majority of assholes that are mucking it up currently. Keithlee and Kevin! Alangrey theinkd theoriginalcowboy and a few others have all been great to deal with and seem to be legit people with a love for vinyl. Some of you other guys on the other had just seem to have a love for hating on the "newbz" so thats fine, some people will like me, others wont but I like what ive gotten in a positive manner form this board as well as helping some others to get some records they were having a rough time finding so bottom line is: If youre terrified that I am going to overcharge you, lie to your face (and boldly at that) steal your money, and then send you a record that doesnt exist... Then dont acknowledge me. If you think the above sounds a bit absurd, it is. And Id love to do business with you. If i was THAT much of an asshole, as much of an asshole as a few of you think I am, I wouldnt be wasting my time here. Assholes have far more options of assish things to do that sit on a computer and get harassed by people who have no idea who i am or what I stand for. Now, FOR THE LAST TIME, must this be one of those threads that an entire off topic flame fest, or can we all grow up (just a little) and get back to the records?
  8. I fully admitted to changing my username, due to the fact that i was using pony express only to raise money to press some local kids i know. And shitty records, sure. Thats why id take offers lower. and the modest mouse at insane prices? i sold it for a good $270 less because I always make room to barter with people. I have zero ebay feedback on there because its brand new, my spellitoutlikeoh account has been being used for a while to sell rare vintage cameras which i collect, instruments, etc and i wanted my record stuff to be all in one place. You guys can hate me as much as you want to but ive already made deals with a few people here ad had great luck, both myself and the other parties being satisfied. So, as much as you want me to leave "your" board, I REALLY enjoy the few pricks that like to harass me at every possible opportunity they get, so I think I'll stay. That, and there are a few good people on here who I have done business with and would like to continue doing so unless you guys manage to ruin my name completely. But i already confessed that yes i am spellitoutlikeoh, this account is just more focused on the project i recently started and that username outgrew me. Get over it already, if you dont like me, fine. Dont deal with me, but you dont have to shit talk me to people that do want to. Seriously, I'm younger than most of you and the drama you have created keeps making me feel like Im all the way back in highschool. And most of you are guys. Drop your fucking balls, and do something else with your lives other than harass people. You're doing more wrong than I am by harassing me because last I checked all I did was "drop off the face of the earth" which is far more justifiable than being and mid-20 to 30yo prick - considering the fact that my roomate spilled an entire glass of water on my laptop a couple weeks ago and Ive had to just use other peoples computers when I get the chance. I really shouldnt have to justify my life to you few harassing me though, especially when I've owned up to everything and am trying to fix the past mistakes I made while you guys make a conscious effort to fuck with me on every post i have. Question: How is listing Brand New's Your+Favorite+Weapon as a penny auction with no reserve selling "Shitty records for shitty prices" exactly?
  9. dude, read the post on dead format. im putting stuff up for penny auction now because im raising money to start pressing my friends on vinyl . spellitoutliekoh was what i use dto sell random shit cameras, guitars, etc. i wanted to start something with just records because ill eventually be selling what i release that way. Im a kid, yes I made a mistake. Please just let me clear my name somehow and prove that i just want to get music out to people and thats why im selling off my whole collection to start a diy label with some friends. No need to keep outing me as spellitoutlikeoh, yes. thats me. but fairly inactive since i was just wanting to sell and trade. im trying to start something now. please guys, just give me a chance i never screwed anyone over,
  10. Figured I'd just go ahead and throw the original pressing I had of YFW in my collection up on ebay and see what I could get for it cause Id much rather buy some other records I'll actually listen to instead and eventually snag a copy of the repress and the dude I was hoping to trade seems to hav elisted what we had agreed upon trading on ebay as well so here goes it. The auctions going for 10 days, starting at a penny... Theres no reason not to at least even look at it. You never know how these things end up. Someone could end up with it for $30 who knows? Original pressing, rarest variant on white vinyl of /100, still sealed in shrinkwrap... What the hell are you waiting for?! It starts at a penny! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160682747940

  13. Oi! So I'm looking for a copy of Salem's "Yes, I Smoke Crack" EP and though its not really the kind of music I see most of the users around here listening to/having in their collection, I figured it was worth asking. If you've got a copy, hit me up. I would love to have this in my collection.
  14. Not really that interested in We Are The Romans :/ I'd be interested in the following albums plus cash or other records: The Album Leaf (LP Lot) - In A Safe Place and A Chorus Of Storytellers +$50 Brand New - Deja Entendu Built To Spill - Nothing Wrong With Love Flake Music* - When You Land Here, It's Time To Return Final Fantasy - Has A Good Home (+cash or other records) Jose Gonzales - In Our Nature (+cash or other records) Mark Kozelek - If You Want Blood Red House Painters - Down Colourful Hill Salem - Yes, I Smoke Crack EP The Books - The Way Out (Limited Rainbow Splatter Vinyl) This Town Needs Guns - Animal This Will Destroy You - Young Mountain (Glow-in-the-dark pressing)
  15. I'm not particularly interested in We Are The Romans but what color vinyl is it on and what condition is it in?
  16. I'm aware of that, clearly. I'd even take $100, I didnt know Iodine had them for sale but thats as low as they go, I'm not trying to make money I just figured someone might want an original pressing for their collection. Because this isnt a "collection" piece to me so much as it is a record i just want to listen to. hell, id even trade it for $75 and a copy of the reissue when its released. Just figured someone else might appreciate it more. Thanks.
  17. damn son, thats crazy. but fair enough, i may prefer to just do a trade. or take that for it. i certainly dont want to keep it around sealed cause I just want a playing copy. If anyones interested in trades, hit me up.
  18. Sorry for the entire novel I managed to write below. For all of you who would prefer I just cut to the chase, the gist of this posting is this: I'VE GOT A MINTY FRESH SEALED COPY OF THE ORIGINAL 2001 PRESSING OF BRAND NEW'S ALBUM "YOUR FAVORITE WEAPON" PRESSED BY IODINE RECORDS WHICH I'D LIKE TO SELL OR TRADE FOR CASH PLUS A COPY OF THE REPRESS, CASH ALONE, A COPY OF DEJA ENTENDU, OR SOME OTHER RECORDS. I AM SELLING DUE TO THE FACT THAT I JUST WANT A PLAYING COPY, AND THIS IS REALLY A RARE GEM THAT BELONGS IN SOMEONE MORE DESERVING OF ITS RECORD COLLECTION. *** ANY REASONABLE OFFER WILL BE ACCEPTED, SO DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. Alright, there. I cut to the chase, now for those of you that have all damn day: I'm guessing you all know (or at least should know) Brand New's album "Your Favorite Weapon" has finally been repressed on vinyl after ten long years, I bought my copy of the original pressing about 7 years ago and it has been stored upright and untouched on my record collection shelf ever since. The result? A mint condition copy of the original pressing. Now, thats great and all... But this is one of those records in my collection that I would absolutely love to listen to on a consistent basis and enjoy it, and just can't justify opening. I mean, its spent its entire decade long lifetime sealed and has continued only continued to grow in demand over those years. So, since Brand New isn't one of the bands that I collect religiously, I'd just as soon own an unsealed copy of the original pressing that I'd be able to actually listen to, or a copy of the repress that I wouldn't feel guilty for opening. This honestly belongs in the record bin of a true Brand New fan who never got the chance to get the record before it went out of print. You know, that fan that is such a diehard fan of the band and collector of vinyl that the repress just won't do. Because while I admittedly do love both the band and this album, for me - as far as Brand New goes - I'm more concerned with just listening to the records than I am collecting them. Rather than sell it, I would prefer to trade it for/towards any of the three following options: A.) another copy of the original pressing that has been opened and played but is in EXC condition with no defects B.) a sealed (or unsealed and in NM condition) copy of Brand New's Deja Entendu. Again, I don't have any particular preference on the pressing. Just another record I've got to have. Or, C.) a partial trade including the new copy of the 10th anniversary repress plus cash or other records. However, if you don't have any of the above, I will take cash offers that way i can just go out and buy the copy that will replace this on on my own time or spend it on the Neutral Milk Hotel boxset I had made an offer of $160 to a guy for his open copy but haven't heard anything back so I'm just throwing that out the window. I'm not trying to get a ridiculous amount of money for the record, though I do know that it is worth something considering the fact that I've seen unsealed copies going for over $150 on most occasions. If you're a cool kid that can at least have a decent conversation and stay in touch, I'm much more apt to cut you a better deal. I'm an easy kid to bargain with, so just send me an offer. If you want to just do a straight up record trade, message me for a list of things I would be willing to swap this for. Shoot me any offers through a PM if you're interested. You can also reply through the board, though it may take me a little longer to respond to. Thanks for looking guys. And again, while I do want to get a fair amount for this record, I'm not trying to get anything off the wall so don't hesitate to shoot me an offer. The worst I could do is say no, but I might just say yes.
  19. I do apologize for the fact that I had to do that, however, I was offended with the fact that i was being bashed on because I ended up not making a trade with ONE guy because I had gotten a better offer. I am not a rude kid at all, and collecting records means the world to me. But what it all comes down to is the fact that we all love records here, and I pride myself on customer satisfaction. Whether its records, vintage twin lens reflex cameras, rare guitars, or custom built bicycles that I'm selling - customer satisfaction always comes first. So, I apologize for any problems that have been caused by this. I just didnt really feel that I deserved to get bashed before I even had the chance to screw anyone over you know? Going an creating a new account probably want the best idea to prove that Im not sketch or that i am reliable. But I can assure you that I am, in fact, not sketch and I am reliable. If I sell you something, you can bet your ass that I am going to send it out. That's just that way I work. So again, i apologize to the VC community for that. Now, Id just like a new shot here on the boards and I don't think thats too much to ask because a.) I have done nobody any wrong and don't plan on doing so either and b.) I'm new here, I really love music and records and I would really love to be a part of this community and on good terms at that. If theres anything i can do to prove myself, I'm listening. Cause I definitely plan to stick around and would like to deal with you guys in the future because I think its really sweet what youve got going on here. One last time, sorry and thank you.

  21. Never really got the chance to "make a repoutation" before getting chewed out. But meh. Ive been selling instruments for years. and im not trying to flip this stuff as I said, thats why im willing to go pretty low on it. Its just not needed in my collection. and the records certainly arent stolen, but thanks for thinking im a criminal. A kid, sure. But it doesnt mean i cant send out a record packaged well and for a good price. Ive been selling stuff for years, and while i havent sold records really, these just need to go. Im not just trying to make money, in fact Id much prefer to trade because im just going to spend the money on records anyway.
  22. I looked at the listings to see how to propely list albums as far as the pressing info went. And why would I up my own bids? Come on. Why don't you let me sell a record or two, and soon enough you'll see that I'm not trying to dick around with anybody and that I'm actually not an asshole and therefore shouldn't have any problems with anyone here. Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire are pending. Tegan & Sara's "Sainthood" is pending for trade. I'll remove those from the list as soon as I receive payment and I will PM w/ delivery confirmation info as soon as records ship out
