  1. Yea this was also one of the records I really wanted. I doubt all these people who bought it had the same experience with this album driving around late at night in high school with girl friends. I saw them on St. Patrick's day like five or six years ago with Reliant K (terrible, in case you didn't already know) and had a blast during their set.

Just a great album that tells a great story. Too bad pretty much the rest of their catalog is garbage.

  2. Summer for me is a lot of newer pop punk (FYS, SYG, etc.) from doing warped a couple years ago. And of course the throw backs Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls, Green day, Incubus (I'm a 90's kid, give me a break haha). As far as new stuff I'm really into the new Torche album and I'm sure the new mwY will be great. Long nights call for Your Favorite Weapon and Interventions and Lullabies.

I've been reading Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman(sp?) and re-ignited my love for 80's hair metal. Currently spinning Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil (\m/), which could progress into a trend for the yest of the summer.

  4. Have:

    Looking for:

    Mae

    Straylight Run

    Arcade Fire

    Sigur Ros (Either release)

    Empire Records Soundtrack

    Pelican - Australasia

I was in the hospital yesterday and was unable to get to the store so I am willing to buy extras close to cost with the money I was planning on spending.

My trade list is in my sig, willing to trade from non RSD stuff as well.

  5. Yea I'm pretty sure the only difference between the HT exclusive and the mass press on the S/T is the color. My HT press is a black/brown marble (and was ironically one of only two albums on vinyl at that particular HT).

The HT @ Polaris, right? Just curious because that's the only one I've ever found selling vinyl but then again the only other HT I've been to is the one @ Easton.

Actually it was at Easton, hence only two records being there. Last time I was up at Polaris they had a ton of stuff. I got another Deftones release there.

  6. Yea I was attempting to DL some stuff earlier and that popped up on the site I went to. I exited out of it and kept going with my business. Prank? Spam? No idea.

The Protect IP act in the senate (The SOPA in the House) would allow the government to block access to websites if copyright holders can prove infringement. Sometimes they will block BEFORE infringement is proven.

Anything you see today isn't really blocked, this isn't even law yet, it's more of a show of solidarity against the bill.

Make no mistake though, this is bad news.

Well damn, I feel like this kinda came out of nowhere. No good.

  7. I normally wait until Jan of the following year, but here's what I'm most stoked on now:

    Thursday - No Devolucion

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Belong

Mogwai - Hard Will never Die, But You Will

    Mastodon - The Hunter

    Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math

Incubus - If Not Now, When?

Girls - Father, Son, Holy Ghost (This record is blowing my mind)

    Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

Explosions in the Sky - Take Care, Take Care, Take Care

The End of the Ocean - Pacific:Atlantic (Columbus, OH band. Explosions in the Sky type band, real sweet.)

    Deftones - Covers

Cymbals Eat Guitars - Lenses Alien (Real stoked on this!!)

City and Colour - Little Hell (Growing on me a lot, I expected a ton)

Bright Eyes - The People's Key

    Bon Iver - S/T

Washed Out - Within and Without

    Disappointments:

Okkervil River - I am Very far

Death Cab For Cutie - Codes and Keys

The LuLu thing with Metallica and Lou Reed (Though Neither has done much good in awhile)

    Saves The Day - Daybreak

    The Strokes - Angles

  8. Real name:

    Alex

    Favorite Bands:

Led Zeppelin, Brand New, The National, Copeland, Metallica, As Cities Burn, Manchester Orchestra, The Arcade Fire, Pelican, Haste The Day, Black Sabbath

    What's your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.?:

Just deleted all that. Too much drama. (10 friend requests a day from random people on fbook, not to mention all the crap from people I do know)

    Hobbies (outside of record collecting):

Reading, Writing (starving artist!), Film, Cooking, Going to shows, occasional video gaming.

Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!:

I have toured on and off with a couple bands and clothing companies since I was 18, more so to help out friends and skip town for a summer.

  9. I was also at the Columbus show. I liked all the bands to a certain degree. Young Widows left me a bit speechless, for better or worse haha. And yea the Aryan looking frontman of Deafhaven was pretty crazy. I thought at any moment he was going to turn into Skeletor. I picked up the RC 12", pretty stoked on the new record!
