  1. For you K-Pop fans, the first four Japanese single compilation albums by Twice are getting released on colored vinyl this September 27. These have the Japanese versions of the singles on the A sides and the original Korean versions on the B sides. These are Japanese releases, and unfortunately, for now it seems like the pre-orders are only available to those who have a shipping address within Japan. Each album is packaged with a 2-page foldout lyric sheet and a code to enter a lottery to win prizes that include autographed album jackets  and sticker sheets (which again can only be redeemed by those within Japan).

    Official announcement (in Japanese) here:

Amazon Japan links to pre-order below. It might be worth checking back after the release date to see if these will ship overseas. For those within Japan, the link above includes links to preorder from other retailers (e.g., Tower Records, Rakuten, etc.)

  2.

    Just got this email:

    Hey Dan,

We wanted to clear up some confusion regarding your order. Currently, if you check your order status on our website, you will not see your signed drumhead. Don't fret, you are still receiving your drumhead. The drumheads were a limited option, and you were one of the lucky customers who snagged one. Congrats! So while you won't see your drumhead on your order status page, consider this email your confirmation that you will receive a signed drumhead.

    We apologize for the confusion.

    Cheers,

    Kings Road Merch

I also just got this e-mail, which is a relief because I was among those of us who never received an e-mail with an itemized receipt.

  3. Got my US order today. No packing material at all - The Secular Haze 10" was playing super breakout inside for several hundred miles. Thus, there is a nasty seam split. The 12" looks a little bowed. Will give it a spin when i get home.

regardless of how many dildos and butt plugs they sell, they can never be as bad as KISS.

The same thing happened to me. For what it's worth, I e-mailed customer service about the busted 10" sleeve, and they told me they could send a replacement.

  4. Anybody have a copy of this? I've been sniped the past three time I've been close to winning one on eBay.

I'd probably be willing to pay $15-20 ppd for this assuming it's in really good condition. I'd like a copy that comes with the Brian Froud poster, but it's more important to me that the record and sleeve are both in good shape.

    Thanks!

  5. There wasn't all too much I was interested in, but I picked up:

    • [*:yoedicuw]Pete Townshend - ]Quadrophenia Demos 2 10"
      [*:yoedicuw]Devo - ]Live 1981 Seattle 2LP
[*:yoedicuw]BBC - ]Doctor Who Sound Effects LP on 180G TARDIS blue vinyl (this wasn't on the US RSD list, but I happened to find it at End of an Ear in Austin, so this was a pleasant surprise!)

  6. yeah this year waterloo in austin was much crazier than last year. we got there an hour early than last time and were a few further back in line. by 10 the line was wrapped around the store/block.

within of one minute of being inside (we were around 10th in line) the whole place was swarmed and people squeezing through aisles. it was a crazy and waterloo is a big store. wish they would open earlier and stagger the crowd or something. let in the first 50, then the next, and so on so forth. waited a good hour in the checkout line.

Waterloo was INSANE. I only wanted Pete Townshend and Devo, and by the time I got inside, Devo was gone. I had Pete Townsend in my hand and couldn't even find the end of the line, but I saw that they still had copies of his 10" from the Black Friday RSD, so I put it back and went to End of an Ear to buy the Doctor Who Sound Effects LP assuming that Waterloo wouldn't sell out of it. I went back at about 12:30pm and was in and out of with Pete Townshend in hand in about two minutes. Crazy what a difference a few hours can make!

So far, no buyer's remorse for me, though!

  7. Lots of great LP's are reduced again. I hate these sales and end buying lots of LP's I will never listen to but cannot pass up. On the fence with the Led Zepplin Mothership Box.

Still Free Shipping and packed in Certified-Free Boxes.

Man, there are some steals here! Thanks for the heads-up--I've been kicking myself that I didn't order more last time.

Picked up Queen's Day at the Races and Sheer Heart Attack for $6.99 each. I didn't want to spend too much, so I stopped myself there. I suppose I'll probably be kicking myself again in a week or two...

  8. Is anybody catching them on the US tour? I was really hoping to make it to their gig with the English Beat at Ram's Head in Baltimore, but it sold out way sooner than I expected, so I missed out.

I was pretty surprised by this! Keep an eye on stubhub, the price of ticket should go down closer to the show.

Yeah, me too! I checked StubHub a few times during the week, and the cheapest price was always daunting. I'm hoping it winds up going down.
