  1. I hate Neil too, but it seemed that the hit was just a big-time collision. I don't see any supplemental discipline or a fine for it.

The game was pretty organized, but the Rangers had almost zero traffic in front of the net. When Anderson can see all the shots, he can stop them pretty easily.

Not looking forward to the possibility of Ottawa advancing.

  2. Stopped by Compact Music in Ottawa. Picked up:

    Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends

Death From Above 1979 - Romantic Nights

    Attack in Black - Marriage

    Alexisonfire - Math Sheet Demos

    White Stripes - Hand Springs

Still missed out on Moneen. I guess I'll have to try Dine Alone tonight.

  3. Kesler is such a joke. its a shame he's such a fucking diver too cause he could be a real special player if he got rid of that bullshit in his game.

I honestly thought it was a smart move on his part. Whoever was cross checking him at the end of the play did it one too many times so he took advantage of it. It'd piss me off if I were a Kings fan, though.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I feel that this is the kind of mentality that is ruining the games.

I wish that the NHL brass would comb over each game, find out who is embellishing, and fine them. Of course, the current CBA prevents big fines, but they may increase when the CBA is renegotiated in the off-season.

Another thing getting to me, is players who won't start fights until they know that the referees are close enough to stop them (see PK Subban, among others). I think that if the referees just let them go; we'd find out who the genuine tough guy is. Moreover, coaches would start giving absolute hell to their guys for all the 5 and 10-minute penalties that would henceforth be sent out.

  4. I think what surprised me most out of all the extra-curricular activities between the Flyers and Penguins was the absence of a Matt Cooke incident. He really seems to have turned his game around.

Carkner is an absolute goon and should have been gone for the rest of this series. Neil isn't much better, and I expect the refs to clamp down tonight. There should be a lot more 10 minute misconducts being given out.

And who can forget about Brown; what a beast!

The attached image sums up how I feel about the Vancouver Canucks.

  5. As per usual, Vancouver makes a mockery of the game by diving and flopping all over the ice. Luongo was actually pretty solid this game, but Quick was better.

That hit by Bitz was just nasty, direct targeting of the head. I won't be surprised if he doesn't receive supplemental punishment though.

Personally, I think you're somewhat hard pressed to find Canucks fans outside of Vancouver.

Regardless, I'm somehow looking even more forward to the coming games. If last night was a preview of the entire playoffs, it's going to be a hell of a ride.

  6. I'll add my $0.02:

Rangers in 5 - As long as King Henrik is on (which he has been pretty much all season), this should be a short series.

Bruins in 6 - Boston is a playoff-built team, they just need Thomas to be "Playoff Thomas" again.

Devils in 4 - Devils are streaky and have been for quite some time, I see them destroying Florida, with Brodeur in top form.

Pittsburgh in 7 - Gritty series. Which ever team can keep their emotions in check better will win. I take Pittsburgh just because Laviolette's emotions tend to flow downward to his team, which might lead to more problems.

LA in 6 - Boston wrote the blueprint on how to beat Vancouver, be physical. With Carter coming back, and Daniel Sedin still a question mark (in my mind), I take the Kings. Quick has kept them in it all year, and will continue to be the best player on the ice. Vancouver's goalie controversy might be cause for worry as well.

St. Louis in 5 - San Jose will sadly crumble.

Chicago in 6 - Coyotes have heart, but I'll take the playoff experience of Chicago. While Toews is still questionable (despite telling everyone that he's good to go), the Blackhawks have depth. Look for Emery to steal a very close game for them.

Detroit in 5 - Nashville has been great, and yes, Detroit hasn't been the same team ever since Vancouver snapped their home winning streak, but with Detroit getting healthier, they'll pepper Rinne with shots. He's good, but I don't see the Preds beating the Red Wings.

  7. - Had to get my brake pads replaced for my car

    - Buried in work at the office

+ Long weekend coming up, with a trip back home to see the family

+ Great mix of tunes for said 5-hour drive home.

+ Good food, great company, and a little bit of time to relax at home.

  8. I have no idea why Randy Orton was on my TV last night, or why Jack Swagger got the jobber entrance. Seriously, Randy cannot sell to save his life. He's attempting to show the fans that he's paranoid of Kane, but forgets about it half-way through the match.

Then, Swagger starts to work over the left leg for 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes are up, Orton returns to not selling the leg, and walks away after the match like nothing happened. Kane deserves better for Wrestlemania.

All that being said, I too am hyped for Taker/Trips HIAC. The constant video packages are starting to wear on me though. I don't need a FULL recap of last week, heck, I don't need a semi-full recap of what happened an hour ago. /rant
