  1. The album is a benefit for Mike skinner there drummer on every famous. He was not the drummer on the st

Fucking finally to Put Your Ghost To Rest! As for Every Famous Last Word, there were some old copies floating around from the German press, but I'll probably bite on that one too. I say that only because I really want the Miracle of 86 S/T to (finally) be pressed, and I honestly thought that'd get a pressing first. I love Kevin Devine's solo stuff, but Miracle Of 86 continues to be criminally underrated. Some of his best stuff there.

  2. I gave up on the whole "collecting" of records a while ago. It was expensive and time consuming and pretty much pointless. Usually just buy one copy for every album that I want now. Any more I just get black to keep things simple. Sometimes I will get a cool color if I feel like it. Sometimes I get the rarest variant because I think I am cool for doing so. It all just depends on how I am feeling that day.

Yeah I agree. Especially now with labels doing a basic color as the limited and some crazy cool splatter as the reg edition (or as a repress). I have a rule one copy of a record. I buy the color I like and that's it. Very rarley I will buy the repres of the record if I like the color or something but then I sell the original I have for cost.

  3. UPDATE

This is the original Delusion demo from 94. There first recorded stuff. Sadly I cant find the case at this time.

This is the "to whom it may concern" Demo. It was released at the same time as "Teenage Unity".

The cover went with the younger band member theme (Cris and his sister on the teenage unity cover and Kevin on this one. Sadly I have the case and not the tape (although I am sure its somewhere)

  4. Not impossible. I think I have the entire delusion/miracle 86 variant collection.

    Delusion stages blue /100

    Delusion stages black /200

Delusion stages Bob Ross cover (coming)

Delusion teenage unity color cover /500

Delusion teenage unity hand made cover /20-25

Miracle of 86 render useless yarn cover /1000

Miracle of 86 render useless regular cover /1000

Am I missing anything as far as 7"'s go?

Well the yarn was just something we did early on. Honestly really time consuming. get a 2 hole puncher and tie a piece of pink yarn and you have that version (I am even to lazy to make one for myself)

  5. so what you're saying is, it's basically impossible to complete a kevin collection?

Well sorta. You have to remember back in 95-96 we where just trying to get something out there and it was all we could afford (on stages) and its not like it sold like wildfire (back then it was all shows and very little mail order and of course no internet presence)

The handmade covers we did for friends having no idea that there would be a demand for them 15+ years later. Nobody could have predicted that.

  6. I get a lot of emails asking me about the pressing info on the early Delusion/Miracle of 86 info so I figure why not make an official post with pics that I can direct people too.

Delusion - Stages  Released in late 1995

3 Test Pressings Myself, Kevin and Joey the Drummer got one (Kevin lost most of his early records so his is gone or destroyed not sure about Joey's)

    100 Clear Blue

    200 Black

The cover on the right was drawn by Kris after a rehearsal in Joey's basement in about 15 minutes. The second cover (the Bob Ross) was done by John Lisa when we did the Teenage unity cover mostly because we all hated the first cover. I would say less then 30 have the Bob Ross.

Delusion - Teenage Unity Released summer 1996

3 test pressings (same info as above)

    500 all on Blue/white

There where 25 handmade covers (all different) made by the band with some friends. About 15 of them are with those friends and the band. 5 where thrown away years ago because they where really really bad and 5 I dug out last year and gave away to people who where really cool and amazing who contacted me about Kevin. So 20 are out there but only 5 made it out of SI my guess is that only about 10 still exist and as bunch of my friends have told me they are gone. Mine is very basic but has a picture I took of Kevin and Kris at a basement show who knows when.

These where the 2 insert's for the Teenage unity record. The bottom one is the original. No idea why I changed it or how many of each are out there.

Miracle of 86/Render Useless Split 7" Released I think early 1998 but its a bit fuzzy

5 tests (two to render one for me and two Miracle same as above)

    1000 all black

This record came about after both bands played a backyard show at our friend Freedom's house.

I stopped running my record label right after this release. There are about 600 in my basement/Mom's house so only about 400 have made it out into the world. Its a fun record right after Miracle decided to change there name. The booklet is also really cool.

If anyone has any questions just ask.

  7. The only two pieces I am missing are the Delusion Teenage Unity Handmade cover 7" and the Delusion Blue Stages 7". I haven't seen those in a couple oh years on ebay so probably won't ever complete it.

I gave away my last 10 handmade covers about a year ago to people who bought any of the old records from me. I think we did 25 only 20 or so made it out there. They mostly went to all out friends. Same thing with stages on blue. There where 100 blue and either 200 or 300 on black. They mostly all went to people who came and saw delusion on Staten Island in the mid to late 90's so most of them are probably in people's basements who could care less about the music and got them more because they where friends. Wish I could help you out but I am down to one copy of those. All I have left is like 8 reg teenage unity and 500 render useless splits haha

  8. I've been reading all the comments for a day and finally listened to the song. First, I'm not getting all the La Dispute business (disclaimer: I think LD are the most overhyped band on VC).

I like this song but I'm not blown away by it. I loved Parting and To the Beat - but I loved both as albums. For me TA is an album band and not one that I run to for a single. I toss on their LPs frequently to play from start to finish. If this is indicative of the quality of the entire album then I think there is a shot that this is a great album that will build upon itself like their previous efforts did for me. It's wait and see for now.

My two-cents. Sorry if you all missed that the PO went up 10 minutes ago. (I kid).

Dave I could not agree more about listening to the whole album. It's very rare that I listen to just one song of there's. I think thats one of the things that makes them special. People complain about how long the songs are but I love that I can put on POSBBAM and listen to the whole thing in 20 minutes.

  9. I spoke with Kevin at the miracle show about the prices these go for and he is not happy that any of his fans would have to pay these crazy prices for anything. He told me that we will find a way to get all of his oop albums back out again at some point but right now the new albums are priority. I say have patients and dont pay $150 for something you will be able to buy at some point for regular price.

  10. Scott - not a "For the Love of..." Fan? I'm testing my theory that if you were around when they were each released that the early stuff resonates more or holds a slightly more special spot in your heart.

And yes, it's awesome to see this discussion on here.

See I love "for the Love of.." but I can see how that would not hold up to someone who did not listen to it back in the day.

I wish I still had my Split Lip version of fate. I have the CD so I still have a version of is but the vinyl is gone.

and thanks Juan I just ordered exit 263 and five year. Very excited.
