  1. It is just so self-defeating. Not only for the record itself, the community, the purchaser, the flippers, the record's value, etc. And it really is not that I am so much bitter as I am just dumbfounded on why people do that. Perhaps the sellers are bidding on their own item or something.

Also it is not that I mind people selling shit they own it is more the potential buyers that continue to shoot themselves in the foot. It is a domino effect, because once the first sells for a particular price point, now not only will that record follow a similar trend (for the time being), but it drives up value of past records and demands for future records as a) people are worried on the fact that if they do not buy it upon release, what it could cost them one day once on ebay and B) more people hoping to make a buck because it is now more worth the trouble. The person buyer is actually helping get the music/records/(kinda any item for that matter not just records) into the hands of more money makers/wishers than the people who would actually like to own it for what it is and not the amount of income it could bring.

Records are not nearly as bad as posters/artwork is though. It is kinda a shitty deal/vicious circle in all honesty.

What's weird is that at the US release show in Akron, not too many people were going and pre-ordering the tour press. Maybe King can confirm that for me. But it seems like it's a Euro thing to get them and flip them because every time I see these guys they always have tons of the LP's left over. Just my thoughts on it.

  2. Totally appreciate the offer, but I've only got one copy of ATEBTS that I can't part with anytime soon. And, of course, the S/T on black. I'll keep my eyes peeled and hopefully get lucky, somewhere down the line.

Mostly on topic, but does anyone have any thoughts on Red Forest itself?

Thats cool. I am beyond bothered by the fact that the very first time I heard this band was when I saw them open for Russian Circles. I was at the merch table before any bands played and the ATEBTS tour press was there for the taking. I remember thinking that it was a cool looking album, but I had no idea who the band even was. And of course after seeing them play, they sold out of the record. And I havent come across it since.

Anyways, I think Red Forest is frickin incredible. My favs are "Red Forest", "They Speak With Knives" & "Left to Rust and Rot".

This is why I hate waiting til after they play to pick up the records. I got lucky at that Trees / Russian Circles show and was able to grab the last copy of Empros. If you don't mind me asking, where in Ohio are you from?

  3. name them or you're a liar. You still bought a second copy to flip. Don't act like you're the only person who has one at this point. If you're willing to let one go for a reasonable price and not a flipping price, let's talk, but to come on here and say, yep, trade bait and someone said they backed out, then no, fuck off

Nice edit there. Who said I wasn't willing to let it go for a reasonable price? I don't even have them in hand yet. Sorry you're so butthurt over this.

  4. I think most people wouldn't admit to buying three copies to flip on the board, days after going to the show. The ole "bought it for a friend and they changed their mind" trick. I was born in the morning, but not this morning

Well, you WERE born this morning because that's what happened. It was a member on the sheath forum that I will NOT name. That being said you'd have a better chance of getting it by not calling me a liar.
