Hi. My name is Gary Martinez and I'm ok with breaking up the whole structure of the posts on this thread. It's my first post on this site, so I'll blame ignorance.
I'm 24 for another month or so, at that point I will have lived a life spanning a quarter of a century. I've got a record label in Evansville, Indiana called Elsewhere Record Co. http://elsewhererecordco.bandcamp.com/ or https://www.facebook...sewhererecordco . We have 10 releases up digitally so far. I'm releasing a compilation on cassette in the next month (sending off for the tapes tomorrow.) My band is called Quin. I also have a little poppy casio project called Speedwalking With Seamus and play lead in a band called Thunder/Dreamer.
The last three record I bought were Antibodies by Birthmark, Sabotage Live by John Cale, and Speaking In Tongues by The Talking Heads. Some of my favorite bands/musicians are Braid, Joan of Arc, Cursive, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone, The Love of Everything, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr, The Velvet Underground, The Descendents, Rainer Maria, New Order, Toro y Moi, Superchunk, Mineral, The Casket Lottery, Boys Life, Sam Cooke, Miles Davis, Count Basie, Ahmad Jamal, Thelonious Monk, Billy Ocean, New Edition, Naked Eyes, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Jawbreaker, Desaparacidos, and The Promise Ring.
Some bands i've been getting into recently are Football Etc., Medications, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Wavves, The Dirty Projectors and I've recently been rehashing some older tunes I didn't listen to as much for a while like Beat Happening, The Minutemen, and Lungfish.
I love the films of Todd Solondz, Harmony Korine, and Wes Anderson.
