Iceberg13
So just as I was getting ready to go out and buy a new receiver, I was given a free Kenwood kr-v6080. I'm using a jvc home theatre system. Worse, a CHEAP line of JVC theatre system which is hardly playing quality music, or any sound, currently and I can't seem to find to much on the "new" kenwood receiver. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this old Kenwood and could tell me how it would stack to what I have now? Any help would be appreciated
jase
If you plan on using it for records. Throw both of them out. But here is a bizarre review that probably attests to the quality levels involved with this receiver http://www.hifi-review.com/150070-kenwood-kr-v6080.html

Iceberg13
My god... fine example of the kings english in that link! Believe it or not tho, when comparing the 2, the old kenwood actually makes a better quality of sound. Whether quality is a good word to use.. I'm not sure But comparing lemons to limes it beats what I had!
allenh
Well the price is good and I would expect it to be better than the JVC but that probably isn’t difficult. It will do a perfectly good job for you and if it's all you have then it's as good as you are going to get for now, but along with what Jase says it's no good for hifi use and it was never meant to be. I would use it for now as it's a step up from the JVC but keep your eyes open from something better.
