pritchie81
I have a console record player (circle 1960's I believe) that I've never used for anything other than furniture. It was my mom's when she was a child and in my grandparent's house and she let us have it. Recently, I've become interested in getting the turn table up and and running. The motor is working and the sound is working fine on the radio but the needle recently fell off the cartridge. I bought a new needle from a local store and the clerk used my old one to match up what I needed but I have no clue how to install it. The store was so busy and cramped that it was impractical to bring it in so they provided me a lesson on a newer cartridge. I wasn't successful in figuring out how to install said needle on my own cartridge. So, I had my friend who is about to graduate from electrical engineering school look at it and he could not figure out. We looked at the 50 year old instructions inside the console and it still made no sense. The brand is State Pride and it was bought from Belk Department store in the sixties, I believe. I can send pictures of the back of cartridge and needle to your email. I'm basically trying to see if anyone can send me instructions on a similar type cartridge because I haven't found one that looks quite like mine. Email me at [email protected] if you can help. Thanks. Pat
