phil1031
I need a tonearm for my turntable but I'm not sure what to get. I was told rega 250 or 300 but I can't find one online. Any recommendations? Thanks
Seafinch
Those are old models so you could look for those on eBay. The new versions are the RB202 and RB303.
donlombardo
Don't know for 165, but for my 318 they recommend the SME-3009.
allenh
I have to ask why do you need a new arm? Is the old one knackered? The arm is the weak point on the otherwise superb TD160/165/166 but because of that perfectly good used ones do come up when people upgrade But if it's to upgrade your turntable then the TD160/165/166 will take pretty much any 9 or 10" tonearm with the right armboard. Have a look on ebay and you'll find all the variations but find the arm you like, can afford and want to fit first though. There are 3 basic arm fittings which are Rega, Linn and SME but there are variations on these and a few others so just make sure the arm you buy conforms to a standard fit and length before you buy a seemingly corresponding arm board. For instance some Helius arms although Linn fitting are a slightly different length so need a bespoke armboard to make sure they're aligned properly and some Jelco's and SME's come in 9 and 12" so would not fit a standard TD160. phil1031
It doesn't have an arm at the moment. I think I'm going with the rega RB202 and an ortafon red cart. Thanks, Phil
