xfedaykinx
have any of you ever gone on an extended trip and had to stop your mail? im leaving for about a week with my fam and my step-mother insists on stopping the mail as opposed to having someone come and pick it up for us. i have several records that will likely arrive while im away and i am freaking out over having them sit at the post office for the week. has anyone else done this? does anyone know of a way to make a special request with the post office to take special care of packages? what should i do??? calm my nerves please!!! stefan
Putting a hold on your mail for a week is super easy. You're more likely to get your packages than if your picker-upper stops by your doorstep every other day. The only pain is going by the post office during normal business hours to fill out the form and then pick everything up. Nerves, calm. xfedaykinx
im just hoping they dont get warped or squished or damaged in any way while sitting there. those people dont care about packages. all they probably care about is that they can get more distance throwing packages around than they can regular letter mail. maybe im just paranoid. bicyclepirate
I've done this and it hasn't been a problem. Nothing that has been held at the post office was ever damaged, and you can fill out the hold mail form online now, you don't have to go into the post office. scottheisel
You can actually fill out a form to hold your mail on their website: https://holdmail.usps.com/duns/HoldMail.jsp It's free and you can set it to automatically resume, too. I always do that when I go on vacation anywhere so stuff sits in an air-conditioned post office building instead of on my front porch where it could get water-damaged, warped, stolen, etc.
benchwarmer
yea, I mean I wouldn't assume it would get tossed around any more than usual. that and they always leave my LP boxes on my porch in the sun.
