Recommended Posts

We put out a record by a band that we believe in with our whole heart, This Year's Tiger from Houston, TX.

Please Check it out @ www. myspace. com/iamwecommunitymusic or www.myspace.com/thisyearstiger and tell us what you think.

Living in the Mirror/Murphy's Luck 7"

In the vein of Small Brown Bike, Hot Water Music, Face To Face and Leatherface, Houston, TX’s This Year’s Tiger play Pabst-chugging rock ‘n’ roll, the sort adored by thick-bearded bros from Gainesville, Florida to Riverside, CA. As it stands, the band would sound at home on a label like No Idea, though their self-released EP and brand new 7" on i.am.we.commUNITY shows plenty of signs that they are looking to move beyond the clichéd sing-a-long style of punk rock. What the world needs now is some damn good rock ‘n’ roll songs, and This Year’s Tiger has some pretty damn good rock songs.

Produced by Johnny Rioux of The Street Dogs.

1st press is on Gold Vinyl with Download Code. !!!

you can get it now for $4 in person or $5 post paid by emailing us @ [email protected]

Well to me there is a feel of the No Idea sound whether or not they are gruff, ska or emo etc.., Just like the feel of Suburban Home, Dischord, or Matador, or SST, KRS or Second Nature and Gravity Records feeling. So to answer your question: It is more of a No Idea feel when i hear/see these boys, but their gruffiness does not hurt either.

( One of the TYT boys used to be in a band called Dismiss with Gared, jamie drier from pmfs, he and drier also were also in the mingus council... TYT are from the same school of rock.)

Please get happy! HAHA!

They are from the same town as you, so it seems you would be stoked to see a "brother" band doing something but, as we all well know you can't, you won't, you don't relate to me and you hate this city. :-X

there are tons of bands from houston i back, this being one of them, but to keep bumping a post is really annoying.

especially when its not adding anything to the conversation or any information from the post. plus it makes it look like you are more into selling your record, then what is actually on it. good music.

i did get a little nerdy and bumpy and while it may be annoying to you, you do have the option of skipping over it, everyone does...

i am just super proud of This Year's Tiger and this record and yes i do want to sell it/give it /trade it and just put it (the music) out there , what is wrong with that, i mean it is not like i am giving away a shirt, koozie, patch and make them "rare" just so they buy a record. i stand behind the music.
