Guest Admin
Stream the Podcast by visiting this link: http://www.vinylcollective.com/2009/06/02/under-the-influence-podast-w-ninja-gun-whiskey-and-co/ Andy Thomas and Ralph Eberhard are quickly becoming the Larry Appleton and Balki Bartokomous of podcasting. Andy Thomas took time out of his busy schedule to bring another excellent podcast this time with Under the Influencers Ninja Gun and Whiskey and Co. Andy starts off with an interview with Kim Helm, singer of Whiskey and Co. She explains the band's love of the Pogues and how this cover is of a song performed by the Pogues but without Shane MacGowen and how they decided to cover it. They discuss how the split with Ninja Gun came to be and some of the other songs they have covered. The podcast features the original version of "Tuesday Morning", the song Whiskey and Co covered as well as an original Whiskey and Co song, "Leaving the Night Life". Andy also had a nice conversation with Coody, singer of Ninja Gun and one of the biggest bullshitters I know, who elaborated on his many future side-projects (Nerd Sex for one sounds like an interesting group, Aids in the Pool will feature Seabron of Suburban Home). He also hints at a tour that he can't announce yet which we now know is the Fake Problems tour happening in July. The podcast features "This is Where I Belong" by the Kinks, the song that Ninja Gun covered as well as an original by Ninja Gun, "Restless Rubes". This is a great Podcast (running in at around 37 minutes). I highly recommend you give it a listen.
