From Interpunk: "Mike Hale and Mike Reed are best known for their loud rock bands, Gunmoll, In The Red and Small Brown Bike, Able Baker Fox, respectively. In April 2009, the two collaborated on a pair of acoustic songs for a 7" that shows the stripped down, quieter side of their songwriting. "Devil Won't Lie" was written by Hale for his !rst LP/CD, "Broken With No Hope" (Asian Man Records), but ended up not making the !nal cut. So Hale sent the song to Reed in hopes that it would bene!t from a fresh ear. Reed added a second guitar part and backing vocals, and the song was complete. "Sun Meets Water" was penned by Reed during a winter break from graduate school and his full-time job. Reed wrote the basic arrangement and lyrics, but wanted Hale to add his creative input to the song and bring it full circle.
