Brett (AMP head honcho) asked me if I would be into interviewing the GAMITS. He figured I might come up with some good questions since I have known the guys really well for a really long time. Truth is, the GAMITS are some of my best friends. We have been there for each other through good times and bad. The GAMITS were one of the first bands on Suburban Home (my little label). I went on tour with them, I put out most of their releases, and when Chris Fogal got married, I was one of his groomsmen. I will never forget the times we had together and so when the guys were asked to do a reunion tour and decided to record a new record, it really got me excited. It reminded me of all the great times we had and I guess it also made me a bit nervous because you never know how a new record from a band that hasn’t existed in over 5 years might go. Luckily, the GAMITS not only put any worries I might have to rest, I think they surpassed any expectations I would have had by recording their greatest album in their entire career. The album not only rocks harder, but it has all the hooks of their earlier records, and the lyrics offer much more depth than previous efforts. While I could go on and on about how much I love this band and their new album, why don’t you read this interview with vocalist, Chris Fogal, and bass player/vocalist, Scott Weigel.
