melikecheese
Over the years a few, "my system hums like a mother" threads have come up. No solution ever mentioned a Ground Loop, which is the cause. I found a great cheap solution to any humming issue you have when trying to resolve a home theater sub woofer hum. Its caused by a ground loop, when the amp in your pre-amp and the amp in your powered speakers or receiver are fighting to define ground. You can buy a Ground Loop Isolator from Radio Shack which is basically a RCA cable with a little bottle like thing in it that you plug between the pre-amp and your receiver. Woo hoo!!
