vinyljunkie Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 that article isnt really about vinyl stores. its just indepent stores that called themselves record stores but relied mainly on CD sales. ive been to a handful of those stores. most of them had a relatively small amount of vinyl if any. also the reporter was apparently lazy, or going on assumptions. using sentences like "perhaps hundreds...." way to do your research and give us a real factual story instead of just guessing. although there are record stores closing. but thats attributed just as much to downloading as it is to stupid kids who quickly run to ebay to spend 100 dollars on a shitty gaslight anthem album as opposed to going to the local record store to see what handfuls of records they could get for the same hundred bucks.
