  1. I need to replace my pitch control on a 1200 MKII. I can find the fader by itself, but I am looking for one with the PC board attached. I am trying to avoid soldering if possible. I have found a couple that have everything attached including the wires so I would just have to plug in. Some of these look like cheaper quality parts. Does anyone know where I can get a reliable part that is "plug and play"? Thanks.
  2. I've seen Life On a Plate represses floating around. You may want to hold off and see if they do the same for other albums.
  3. A VPI would be insane, but unfortunately it's way out of my budget at the moment. Sounds like if I can get the Bluepoint on the 2Xperience I'm sold.
  4. I knew I had seen it with that cart somewhere.
  5. I am planning on moving soon and have started building a new listening setup. I couldn't pass up a good deal, so I made a quick decision and purchased a Pro-ject RM 5.1 SE turntable (Black). After the purchase I decided that I prefer the Pro-ject 2Xperience Classic (Mahogany) for a couple of reasons. The first is that the 5.1 does not come with a dust cover, which I definitely want. It's $100 to get one for the 5.1 but is included with the 2Xperience. Another reason is that I feel the 2Xperience will look better with my speakers (Martin Logan Motion 40s in cherrywood). After doing a little research, it appears that there is a difference in cartridge between the two models. The 5.1 has a Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 and the 2Xperience has an Ortofon 2M Red. There is a much higher price tag for the Sumiko cartridge, but the 2Xperience sells for a few hundred dollars more. Is the cartridge that much better? I really like the look of the 2Xperience more, but I just want to make sure that I am not sacrificing noticeable audio quality for aesthetic differences. I have the 5.1 on eBay right now for $100 under MSRP so I can put toward the 2Xperience. Any advice is appreciated before it sells.
