  4. Brain Killer - The Complete Punk Recordings CS FRAME003 In celebration of Brain Killer’s demise, the band’s collected works have been released by Framework on a cassette titled “The Complete Punk Recordings”. This tape contains Brain Killer’s LP, 8” single, 3 EPs and a previously unreleased live radio set. All copies come with 12 page booklet, and 2.25” pin. Pick it up here: http://www.frameworklabel.com/shop
  5. Calvin Johnson (K Records, Beat Happening) included Night Times on his top records of 2012! Check out the full list over at Chickfactor http://chickfactor.com/2012/12/chickfactor-2012-lists-round-three/
  6. In addition to Night Times, Fred Thomas is also releasing two other solo albums this month: Turn It Down (An old jam making it's way to vinyl for the first time, courtesy of Corleone) & Kuma (A brand new jam, courtesy of Ernest Jenning Record Co). To celebrate this aligning of the cosmos, we all got together to offer a bundle deal for people who want to pick up all three at once! As an added incentive (as if you needed more): included with the bundle is No Other Wonder (Seemingly Random Unreleased Songs 1997-2012). This hyper-limited CDR (only 60 hand-numbered copies made) collects 25 tracks and almost an hour's worth of unreleased material from Fred's archives spanning a 15-year period and including at least one song from every year. Demos, unfinished sketches, instrumental beats, 35 second grindcore songs, really good songs, really bad songs and a lot of really strange songs fill up this incredibly intimate collection. Never intended to be shared outside of the headphone space of the bedroom recording session, No Other Wonder is a look in for the completist or the voyeur. This bundle deal is available NOW from Polyvinyl Mailorder: http://www.polyvinylrecords.com/store/index.php?id=2278 or directly through Fred via The Life Like Webstore: http://lifelike.bigcartel.com/product/fred-thomas-3lp-unreleased-cd-bundle-deal No Other Wonder will be included with the first 30 orders from each party. Take your pick!

  9. It is a great pleasure to announce that Night Times by Fred Thomas is out now! I really could not be happier with the final product, and I am so excited to have this album released out into the world. All copies come on gorgeous white vinyl and include a download code. Orders are now being accepted via the Framework webstore. For the children of the modern age, the album is also seeing a digital release tomorrow, October 2nd, by the Polyvinyl Record Co. Look out for that to be available through all the major digital stores (iTunes, eMusic, Spotify, rdio, etc.) In addition to this latest Framework release, the webstore has also been updated with a few new distro items from members and friends of the label. Here’s what we’ve got: Saturday Looks Good To Me - 2012 Tour Tape - This is the first new recording from Fred Thomas' Saturday Looks Good To Me since recently awaking from years of dormancy. 5 absolutely killer new songs that fit right at home with the band's All Your Summer Songs, & Every Night albums. Only 100 copies made. Most were sold on their tour this past spring. So far as I know, these are the only copies available for sale around the internet right now. (Life Like) California X - Sucker/Mummy Cassingle - Tape version of the bands debut single. "Sucker / Mummy" features two tracks of top-shelf grunge-pop in the vein of Dinosaur Jr. and Superchunk: fuzzed out melodies for the 90's low-fi "indie" fan in all of us. Limited to 100 for the band's Summer 2012 tour. No Sir, I Won't - More Politicians b/w No Party System 7" - Debut vinyl release from one of the best current bands in the Boston punk scene. 2 tracks of complex songwriting with driving power and a heavy peace punk vibe. Get into it. (Destroy Me Records) Potty Mouth - Sun Damage 12" EP - Infectious indie-punk hybrid from the valley of Western Massachusetts. Taking cues from other all-girl groups of yesteryear and the tuneful qualities of low-fi 90's post-punk, these ladies create a distinct soundscape of dark pop melody that somehow maintains its youthful exuberance. 6 tracks in just under 14 minutes. (Feeble Minds/Ride The Snake/Puzzle Pieces) Got some great new projects in the works that I hope to announce shortly. Distros/Stores/Questions/Concerns: [email protected]
  10. Also, I'd like to note that Night Times is just 1 of 3 (yes, 3) LPs by Fred Thomas that are coming out this fall... 'Turn it Down', one of Fred's older solo jams is being re-released in a limited pressing of 200 by Corleone Records & 'Kuma', a brand new LP, is being released by Ernest Jenning Record Co. We're all working together to make a killer bundle deal (*with special things) available for those who want to snatch up all 3 at once. The bundle will be made available through Polyvinyl Mailorder I'll be sure to post details on that as the release date gets closer!
  11. I am terribly excited to announce that, on October 1st, Framework is releasing Night Times, a new solo album by Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good To Me, City Center, Lovesick, etc...) Here's the details: Fred Thomas - Night Times FRAME002 Michigan-born singer/songwriter/compulsive band-former Fred Thomas has turned the most heads with his underwater chamber-pop sounds in Saturday Looks Good To Me, but Thomas has always diverged from those sunny tunes to work on a plethora of other projects at the same time. The washy sample-pop of City Center, the surfy Swimsuit or straight up noise outfits have all walked hand-in-hand on the timeline. Since around 2001, Thomas has also preformed under his own name, touring and releasing songs that don’t fit anywhere else in a low-key, stripped-down style. Originally released as a free download in 2010, Night Times is the sixth volume of Thomas’ largely obscured solo material. The freely-shared files made the rounds the same way as limited CDR or cassette albums circulated a few years beforehand, reaching a select few via the ramshackle merch table at living room shows, mixtapes or recommendations between friends. We’re pleased to release this strange collection of heartfelt pop songs and foggy landscapes in a physical form for the first time as a white vinyl LP edition complete with two additional tracks not included in the original release.. Sometimes absurd, sometimes sad, Night Times is full of beautiful, shadowy compositions that drift from one to the other; as if like dreams passing in the night. Drawing on the insular spirit of Arthur Russell’s bedroom productions and the haunted folk poetry of acts like Will Oldham, Mt. Eerie or Neil Young’s darkest hours, Thomas melds subtle acoustic structures with waves of buzzing guitar tones and ghostly vocals. These 17 astral pop gems rival the greatest of his previous offerings and we’re left with a work that truly sets him apart from his indie folk/pop colleagues. Night Times by Fred Thomas will be available October 1st on white vinyl 12” w/ download card via Framework. The album will also be made available digitally courtesy of the fine folks at Polyvinyl Record Co. Hear the song “Picture Hurt” from Night Times here: http://soundcloud.co...as-picture-hurt For more information, and wholesale order details: [email protected]
