  1. pulled this off the news wire at work today:
A surge in Internet cross-border shopping by Canadians trying to cash in on the soaring loonie is creating headaches for consumers, border agents and Canada Post.

There are already complaints of delivery delays as mail sorting centres try to dig out from heaps of Canadian Internet orders from the U.S. - and the holiday shopping season is barely underway.

Officials say the volume of parcels has choked three main international mail-sorting centres operated by Canada Post and the Canada Border Service agency in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.

There are reports of parcels from the United States languishing for days and even weeks at the centres before being released for delivery.

Bruce Cran of the Consumers' Association of Canada says he is getting plenty of complaints and is warning that the backlog is going to get worse.

Canada Post and the border service agency say they are working to speed up service and are urging consumers who plan to cross-border shop for the holidays via the Internet to place orders as early as possible.

    fuckballs.

So it got probably stuck there? That´s lame

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed for you, Skum

I paid 12.90 euros for shipping, that should be air, correct?

I should mention that I paid for it the day I won it.

looks like he shipped as small parcell for 12,90 EUR

Small parcell is surface unless you pay extra for airmail.

He could have it sent by airmail letter post for 8 Euro instead

  3. 7 new Against Me Axls that I had to pick up at the customs office and pay taxes for them

no idea doesn't do the $0 value thing on their custom forms? or were there too many to pull that off?

    yeah, probably.

The custom office over here always gets suspicious when they receive a large packet with seven identical LPs, even if the value was marked as 10$ on the customs form.

I can import goods up to 24 Euro for free, which is like 34$ at the moment. I guess they realized that 7 LPs cost more than 24 Euro, so they held it back and charged me. You gotta keep in mind that one LP over here usually costs around 11 - 12 Euro in shops.

But the taxes weren´t that much, I had to pay 8 Euro for all seven LPs, so that´s ok. It was still worth the hassle ::)

  4. I tell you, you should have bought my copy.

But it´s still there if you don´t receive the other one :-*

You played hardball with it at first, even though I told you I'd pay handsomely. I wish I did buy your copy, it would've been a little cheaper and I'm sure I would have it in my hands by now. Still, if mine shows up and it's not in the condition described, you can expect an email from me asking about yours.

ahh, I didn´t play hardball, I just wanted to wait till I actually received it and knew more about the condition. Then yours popped up on ebay and the rest is history. Anyway, keep me informed about yours if it shows up....

  5. well, this guy says shipping worldwide, so you should ask him who much postage is (I assume about 8 EUR, thats the cheapest way to send a LP with airmail). This is on the ebay.com skin:

Edit: Yep, he seems to charge 7.95 EUR postage to the US and also accepts paypal.

    Hope this helps you
