Argh, I wish they would repress this. It's my girlfriend's favorite album by her favorite band, and I wanted to buy her a turntable and this LP for Christmas, but with the aftermarket price being what it is, I don't see it happening...

The question i have for you Scott is... do you love this girl? I mean, is she a keeper? than drop the serious coin and get her the LP. I've got my eye out for some records for my girlfriend for xmas, and i know it's going to cost but she's worth it.

TMFW tends to go for over $100, and at this point i'm ready to just accept defeat and buy the next one that comes up. The packaging is amazing. I wish someone who press the last Lucero on vinyl.

I like the new Lasalle but since it's on CD i don't own it, instead I just listen to it at work.

It was self-released by the band, so that in itself is worth supporting.

I think Hanging Like a Hex is part of this limited series. Can't remember the other labels.

It's been out of print for about 10 years.

I also found it funny... because i remember working in the record store the day this came out, and realizing it was 10 years ago makes me feel old, which then makes me chuckle.

will VC be carrying these? hopefully the white vinyl. shipping to the states from Deranged is really pricey.

i mean, there are only, what, 100 on white vinyl? that's why i spent the extra money to get it from deranged. i highly doubt any distros will have them.

Yeah don't count on any distros getting the limited color. I work for a distro, and we sell Deranged stuff in Canada and we're not getting any of the white copies. Gord said the band got some, and the rest go to pre-orders/mailorder.

I prefer Pelican live than on record. But i still buy all their records.

As far as number rarity goes - I have a Septic Death - Nightmare Take a Nap box set that was custom made for me by Pushead. It is one of a kind version signed and numbered with my initials on it.

Yesterday i got my limited white vinyl copy as well as my test press of the new Tranzmitors 12"ep!! The test press looks nice next to my test press for the full length LP (also self titled like the ep). You're probably wondering what i paid for these test presses.... they were free, given to me by the band & the label. And i love all those silly bastards for being so kind. The new songs are quite possibly the best stuff they've done so far. 3 originals, 1 Moondogs cover. Here's some pictures of my test press and the white vinyl version (with cover). Get your ass over to Deranged Records (www.derangedrecords) or wherever you buy your records (vinyl collective?) and pick up this 12"ep.

I can't decide if I want Slapstick or not. 2 years ago I would have jumped on this, but my tastes have shifted. Do I want it for nostalgic reasons?

I'm with you guys. The thing is the other day i put the CD on my ipod, and listened to a few songs and enjoyed it. Maybe i was just feeling nostalgic. After 3 or 4 songs i found myself flipping thru the songs and not really caring.

But man, when this first came out... I fuckin' loved it!

the box that my LP came in was in perfect shape, not a single problem there. As for the sleeve, just the usual slight ding on the corners.

So i finally got my pre-order of Gaslight Anthem - '59 Sound from Vinyl Collective and was really bummed to see how bad the vinyl is warped. I've been collecting for a long, long time so i understand that a bit of a warp is fairly common with vinyl but this is really bad. When you hold it in your hands one side is visibly warped and obviously even more noticeable when it's spinning on the turntable. Thankfully it still plays with the needle only jumping a little bit (this might be because i have a decent turntable that i bought about 22 years ago). Anyone else have this problem with the blue vinyl version?

This is by no means an attack on Vinyl Collective.... it's just a rant. I was so excited waiting for this package to show up so seeing the vinyl warped bummed me out.

By the way... the shirt looks better than i was expecting it to.

The new 12" is 4 songs, and seriously some of the best material to date. The band will have copies for sale for the first time this upcoming weekend when they play in Texas. If you're going to that amazing power-pop fest in Austin you can score a copy. Other wise, it'll be in distros and what not over the next few weeks.
