  1. it's a weird lineup, i was holding out for some other summer festival to be really amazing but nothing has delivered. my friend has a photo site too, so she'll be shooting as well but i don't know if she actually has a working pass or not.

  2. google and the site searching are failing me, i didn't see any current threads. feel free to post a link if anyone has actually posted this already.

ANYONE GOING? my friend convinced me to go and hang out with her, and i'm always willing to leave the state for a while (fuck my job).

    VC Bonnaroo hang out? anyone?

there really isn't a ton of bands i want to see, but i'm sure the trip will be pretty decent.

i'm thinking: Radiohead (gotta see them once i guess), RHCP (same), Pelican, GZA (performing Liquid Swords? fuck yeah), Mogwai, Bad Brains, Childish Gambino, St. Vincent, Feist, The Roots, Alice Cooper, Battles, Aziz Ansari, Doug Benson, The Beach Boys (why not?), Mariachi el Bronx, Skrillex (so i can sing along to Bangarang), Danzig Legacy (and hopefully not a repeat of FFF last year), Puscifer, Ludacris (ha), etc.

i now realize there were a lot more bands i'd like to see after all. score.

  3. I got into this. This is what I typed to my friend earlier, so that's why there's more explanation. Check it. I went to Minneapolis this weekend to hang out with some friends and I wanted to go to the D4 show where they were playing all of Midwestern Songs that was happening, but it was sold out. So me and said friends went over to the Triple Rock earlier in the day and put up flyers with my name and number on it asking if anyone had extra tickets. We went back later as the doors were opening and were waiting around to see if anyone would ring. Paddy from D4 walks outside and is talking to some other people and I overhear him say "Should we put those flyer kids on the guestlist?" and I go "Yeah, you should!" and he comes over and hes like "Are you Troy?" and I go "Yeah!" and hes like "Alright, Troy. What's your last name?" I tell him and he says that my name sounds like a super hero's real name and that hes putting me and +1 on the guestlist. Also, he later told me to take my shirt off while they were playing and I also got to meet Mitch Clem. Cool shit.

this is awesome. thanks for the flyer idea, i'm gonna start doing that for every show that is sold out :D haha. good work, Troy.

  4. of course, i thought i could get tickets at the 400 Bar the day after they went on sale.

NOPE, they sold tickets during happy hour at the venue on a Friday, then they instantly sold out when they went onsale online at midnight. also, $25!

i don't know why they wouldn't want to move the show to a bigger venue in town, $$$$. 400 Bar is a shithole too, but i think it has something to do with Cursive/Conduits just playing there recently.

  5. Just watched the first 2 seasons again. I am ready for the new season. It was delayed because Blake almost broke his back jumping off of a roof onto a beer pong table. That guy is crazy.

not surprising since he jumped off a light post base onto my fucking HEAD at Fun Fun Fun last year during Ceremony on the pedestrian bridge. then i saved his ass from getting trampled when he went down later. i thought for sure that shit was going to knock me out.

  6. wait for the TRL preorder, I wouldn't trust amazon to ship this beast properly. TRL have the best prices as well, and possibly some color vinyl variation.

then i can cancel the amazon. i have seen things sell out on amazon preorder (calexico road atlas, smiths super deluxe) so i learned my lesson and now i preorder and cancel before they charge me if need be

not a bad idea for backup. hopefully they won't cancel the preorder if they oversell. i can't see this one flying off the shelf right away though.

  7. to the people wanting the Record Club version, JOIN THE DAMN CLUB. it's totally worth $100. that includes shipping, roughly 7 releases, a Graveface shirt and membership card. you also receive each format of every release. vinyl, cd, cassette. it's a no brainer.

oh yeah, and you have a chance at randomly receiving a test pressing in each package. i got a The Loose Salute test press last year.
