Finally, we had some questions about our Eco Vinyl over the last few weeks. In an effort to do our bit for our carbon footprint, we are making some changes for 2022 (but you may start to see these trickle out in late 2021). First, our retail variants will begin being pressed on "Eco Vinyl". This is a method where the plant uses leftover pellets from other jobs and mixes them all together. It creates completely unique colors and means every single record will be individual. More excitingly for us, it helps us reduce waste and our carbon footprint at the same time.

 

We’ll also switching to 140 Gram vinyl wherever possible. There are several reasons for this, but the main ones are that it uses less plastic (obviously), but also that the majority of the presses used to this day are still optimized for 140 Gram. The industry pivoted toward 180 Gram for collectability, when vinyl was struggling, and it stuck. But, after chatting with our production partners, we believe that good mastering is the basis for a solid record ... and not the weight of the vinyl it is pressed on. (Some us long-term collectors still have 100 Gram vinyl from the 80's that sounds great!)

 

Lastly, we’ll be moving away from shrink wrap and switching to plastic poly bags, since it seems that most people throw the single use shrink wrap away, but tend to keep over-bags. We are not saying we will change the world (yet), but we can do our little bit to help. So let us know what you think on Twitter.

I just sent Scott ANOTHER email. We'll see if he responds. His inaction and handling of this has ruined my feelings towards his music. This is ridiculous.

Also,  I'm pretty sure we are SOL in regards to a refund since it's through Kickstarter. Kind of tiffed that some people even got signed copies of this album back in April on RSD.

I sent a message via Kickstarter today.  I'll post if I get a response.  At this point, I'd be fine with,  "sucker!".

From what I can tell via Discogs, none of the vinyl pressings, including Modular's, have 100% of all samples. Only initial CD pressings were as intentioned.

You will for sure get the DVD if you purchase the CD version. That goes without saying.  However, I would say there is a good chance you will get the DVD if you purchase directly from YGR.

I had a question about the DVD though - I pre-ordered the vinyl from Young God and, even though I don't recall it being advertised as coming with a DVD (t think the only mention was the CD/DVD combo), mine came with a DVD anyway - it was in a plain white sleeve outside of the record.  So that was certainly a nice surprise! Does anyone know if pre-orders from previous records came with the DVD along with the vinyl?  I bought The Seer at a show and To Be Kind at my local shop, and neither came with DVDs, although each was also available as a CD/DVD combo, which i kind of regret not getting when I had a chance...

If I recall correctly, they did this in the past with both To Be Kind and The Seer.  I remember being a bit tiffed about them tossing in the DVD (yes, it was silly) with the LP because I purchased both CD and vinyl versions at the same time as to not miss out on the DVD, which I thought was a CD exclusive.

Dang. $90 is rough. Hopefully it shows up in the states.
