  1. Hey abovetheearth - Did you need to post the same thing 3 times in a row? Were you that excited to "burn" me?

Also, I explained what happened in the Brand New topic very conclusively. I was trying to get ahold of a red copy. I had two copies on the way, one I paid $80 for, one I paid $55 for. I didn't think the $55 would be red, but it was. So then I just wanted to get my money back - so I tried to sell the $80 AT COST (which was still 20-50 dollars cheaper than it was going for on ebay at the time) and everyone assumed I was flipping. Like children putting their fingers in their ears when someone says "Santa isn't real".

Get fucked you dirty filthy flipper. Once a flipper always a flipper #amirite?

what else do you flip? humans?

  2. Not to be dickish, but what exactly would you expect them to do to remedy this?

Ya just gotta take the hand you were dealt on this one. I've been there, and felt a slight dissappoinment, then I think "this is about the music, not about colors and rainbows and shit" and I put it on my TT and move forward.

I'd want the band to personally sign my black vinyl with gold felt marker

    but that's just me.

  3. should have opened it at the venue if you were so concerned.

Milk is in a clear jug clearly marked 'milk'. OJ is typically orange in color with a picture of an 'orange' on the label.

Point is, as mentioned before, poor merch guy is just there helping out. you should have opened it then and there.

curious, what pressings do you currently have of this? it sounds like you didnt even have any.

not all orange juice is either

  4. Yep. If you like them that's all that should matter to keep them in good shape. I mean think about what these records cost and how rare some can be. Then consider how cheap those plastic sleeves are. To me it's a no brainier protect your music and investment.

Side-note: His response of wanting to know prices so he could put them in sleeves is not how I read the og post at all it seemed like what he wanted to know was the prices to know whether or not he should either keep them or sell them. Because he said:

hey y'all so I'm trying to rate out all my old vinyl and see if there's any worth here or if I should just hold on to it all

Meaning if he had some big money items he wanted to cash in. Maybe he sensed the hate and decided to change his tone or maybe I read it wrong.

To help him out. I'd say just check around in some of the threads around VC's buy/sell/trade section those are indications of some fair prices (usually), check ebay (listing that actually have bids - not the buy it now option), popsike, etc...

I keep them in good condition as it is by virtue of them sitting on a shelf and just collecting dust, but like I mentioned everything I bought, I bought new and used and enjoyed when I was in that phase of music and instead of dumping them at a record shop or something I just kept them because I like owning things.

But if there was some obscene value to certain ones, I'd be silly not to at least consider selling them. I don't see how that's an issue, people buy and sell stuff all the time. The value to me is the memories of when I was younger and them sitting on my shelf, if other people assign a higher monetary value than that that I could use to fulfill other hobbies I fail to see how that's an issue.
