  1. Yeah why the hell are there still 2 threads for this?

Also, I find it funny a beloved member of this board just sold one for $55 & gets no shit, but this girl gets torn apart.

Because earlier when I posted it in the wrong thread, I reposted it in the correct one in hopes that the wrong one would get deleted, but instead now there's two in the correct thread. :/

  2.

Absolutely. Even were there not a repress expected, it's on the consumer for paying any price higher than the SRP for an item. Aftermarket prices are determined by what people are willing to pay for those things.

Look at this girl for example. She's trying to get $60 for this even with a repress in the works! Is the label screwing her over by repressing it? Is the label screwing you over if you bought it off her? No (although in the end you're both at fault for buying Blink 182 records in the first place).

In reality if I got $60, it's the only way I can justify selling it. It's one of my favorites and honestly I don't want to let it go, so I put a steep price so it's worth it to sell if that makes sense. SXSW is coming up but the numbers in my bank account have been going down, so that's why I put it up for sale. (gonna disregard the blink comment) (:

  3. I got a little ledge shelf from ikea and screwed it into the wall just above my turntable... Looks really nice, and I can keep a couple up there at a time

Yes. This is also what I do. I don't have a ton of room on the are I have my table, and this works perfect.

  4. Yeah it's pretty gritty sounding. I just chalked it up to it being a pic disc. I used my anti static brush before each spin like I do all my records and it didn't make that big of a difference. Side B seemed to be worse than side A.

As for the speed, I felt suuuper anxious while listening to the first two tracks on side A. As if the speed of the songs were affecting my mood. It was weird. That's when I knew something was up with the way it was pressed.

hmm. Just timed SLSP with the mp3 version and it seemed to be faster by about 1.5 seconds by the end. But I can definitely tell especially at the beginning how it's quicker. Oh well. I'll still play it too much, regardless. It's a cool novelty to have(:

  5. Idk if anyone bought 5sos, but I'm listening to my copy now and it's definitely pressed wrong. Everything is a hair too fast. I synched it up with my digital files for 1 song and the record finished before the digital file.

Oh well lol. What can you expect from a picture disc from a major label.

I also noticed the first run through that there was a ton of junk in the grooves. On both sides :/ just gotta give it a good cleaning but I figured it would be fine to play once. Negative. I didn't notice the speed though, I'll probably do the same when I get home. Bummer :/

  6. Refund and buy another copy with your refunded money.

Think about it like this. Would you have knowingly paid full price for a record that you couldn't listen to 1/4 of? If no, then get your money back.

And if you can't find a copy in stores, the eBay prices aren't outrageous yet. With tax and shipping I paid about 32.5 for my copy from HT, and there are some buy it now prices for 30 plus shipping.
