  1. Got mine today and its hand numbered.  Didn't realize that was going to happen but looks like 25/500.  Got the white/red/blue splatter variant.  Been holding out on listening to the mp3 downloads for when the vinyl got here so super excited to finally leave work in 2 hours and get to jamming this thing.  I'm drooling at K-Dev covering that E. Smith song!

  2. Just got my blue one in the mail.  Bummed it doesn't have any sort of lyric sheet with it... was planning on listening to it tonight while reading.  Guess I'll have to look it up on my computer.  And yeah, mine has a bad seam running down the top of the packaging as a few have mentioned.

I listened to this a few times on the stream last week but didn't really dive in b/c wanted to hear it on the vinyl.  Look forward to exploring it again when I get home from work.

  3. Yeah, I'm guilty of just posting a 2xLP b/c I didn't have a double album but I still wanted to participate.

February looks great but I think I'm going to have to skip certain dates as some of the categories only apply to records I will have already posted but will still be fun to do the days that I'm able to.

  4. Most of my used bin finds have actually been lightly used copies of new albums I was planning on buying anyways. Apparently, a lot of people in the Atlanta/Athens area just suddenly decided to stop liking bands I'm into and dropped off their stuff the day before I go to the record stores. It works out nicely for both of us.

EDIT: I changed my mind about posting my Of Montreal record, and went with The Forecast - Everybody Left instead. I think I made the right choice.

Where do you shop at in the Atlanta area?  I'm in the Roswell area and I really like going to Decatur CD (though it is a bit of a drive) but I usually just buy new there b/c they have so many great new LP's coming in daily.

  5. I didn't have any records in high school, so I'm treating it as albums that I listened to a lot in high school.

I listened to pretty wretched music in high school so needless to say, when I got a turntable, I didn't buy any of that junk on vinyl.  But there are things that I bought and listen to heavily now that came out when I was in high school (I was just oblivious to it) so I think I'm going to post a pic of one of thos albums tomorrow.

  6. I'm surprised that so many people have posted some newer stuff that they found in "used" bins.  It might just be the stores I go to, but most of the stuff I find used are just older albums (for example, today I posted Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Damn the Torpedoes") but I'm seeing photos of stuff that just came out in the last few years.

Also, for tomorrow's "high school album" are most people treating this as an album that came out while we were in high school or something we listened to a lot in high school?  I guess there aren't definite rules but I was just curious how people were going to treat tomorrow's challenge.

  7. Haha that was mine. Just going through the alphabet it was the first one I came across that I remembered being splattered.

Oh yeah, I recognize the name and avatar now.  I'm cool putting up a marbled one anyways.  I have a few that I really like so just have to decide on which one this afternoon.

  8. Finally chose my 80's record for today and posted it.  I'm so addicted to this, I'm pre-shooting my next three day pictures because I'm going out of town but want to still be able to post on the appropriate day.

My wife showed me a few of these post a pic-a-day things back in December that were mainly Christmas themed and I was like, "Ok, that's stupid.  I don't see the appeal..."

She has made a lot of fun of me in the past 8 days lol.

  9. Still tempted to walk to the record store and find something fun for today. Cannot bring myself to move. Much too cold. Brrrr.

i've thought the same thing but not for today's but I realized I have no "red" records though I guess I really don't know how I'd just go to the record store and grab a red record.  I think I'm just trying to have an excuse to buy more records.

  10. We'll see if theres still enough interest to keep making a new every month but as now im at least going to make one for February, think we could have some fun w/ Valentines Day and whatnot.

One cool thing about future months is that as my collection grows this year, I'd know I'd be checking the hashtag to see where I could fit in my new records I bought since the project started.  Yeah, maybe I couldn't hang for all 365 but it'd be nice to hit it up every now and then as I am able to fit more albums into new topics.

  11. If it does continue, I'd like to see every 3 months. That way a bunch of new comers could fill in a bunch of gaps in their collection without feeling like they're posting the same things each time.

I've seen so much minor threat and fugazi so far. Also plenty of guns n roses. And it's good to see a few Paul Simon - Graceland records pop up(one of my favourites!). And also a couple of others have posted some hard-ons too. Which rules because all of us have posted different hard-ons records that I've seen

Yeah, I agree with you on the 3 month thing.  I almost picked up the Paul Simon - Graceland the last time I was at the store but my wallet begged me not too.  Definitely on my list as the next vinyl I gotta get.

I'm at work so haven't gotten to do today's challenge but still deciding amongst REM, Tom Petty, the Boss, Pixies, or Pat Benatar.

  12. Finally caught up.  Wasn't able to do the compilation/soundtrack day but I did all the rest.  http://instagram.com/babyfrog84

I'm also ready for tomorrow's though I kind of don't want to plan anymore because I think I'll like to come home from work and just be able to look at the challenge and then pick out what I want to take a pic of (and then listen to it of course, b/c this has been a great way to bust out some stuff I don't normally listen to.)

  13. Can't wait to do this when I get home.  I'm a little late so going to have to start on day 7 (or has it been ok to go back and do the previous days?)  I'm excited to look through pics of what people have been posting.  Is it most common to just search the tag on IG and look through the pics there or is there another application/process most of you are using?

If you want to check me out http://instagram.com/babyfrog84 or @babyfrog84 as well since they'll be automatically uploaded to Twitter.  Going to post my first one tonight when I get home but I already had assorted pictures of some of the vinyl I own on my IG feed if anyone wants to take a look.
