apple is pretty legit. I bought an iBook used a few years ago from a girl in california. About a year and a half later I started having issues with it. I randomly checked to see if it was under warranty and it was. I called in, they ran me through some steps and then asked who sold me the computer, I told them her name and they sent me out a box. Sent in the computer and it was returned a week later with new insides and a new battery.

I just did something similar. Bought a Macbook from someone, and took it in to have it checked out (I had already done so myself, but just for peace of mind) and they check it out and everything for me. Still has 2 years of Apple Care, which will still be honored.

Been very happy with Apple in the short amount of time that I've been using their stuff.

The wife and I are in the process of buying our first house. Pretty excited, but nerve racking.
