  1. Gotta be honest. It's been a long wait between you guys and explosions in the sky. Wasn't really feelin any other the other bands I heard. Enjoyed your set though.

I even gave you a shout out! to you and silent gods!

Yeah i'm not really into alot of those bands either but it was fun to play. Muhammad ali is the best band in houston though.

I didn't catch them. I was in line when you guys started and made it in about 1/3 through your set. I was able to hear and partially see most of it while I was in line though. Good stuff. Just made it home. Parking garage was packed!

  2. I gave my wife my grandmother's ring. I liked the idea of giving her a part of my family's history. While I didn't do it to be cheap, the fact that we could apply the thousands of dollars I would have spent towards our house made more sense for us. Fortunately, she valued pragmatism more than some girls do.

This is exactly what I did. If this is an option for you, definitely consider it. If not, do like others have said and ask sisters/friends or even her mother (after you talk to her dad first though)

  3. I have the following games for sale. All are in mint condition and come with the box and instruction book.

Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360) - $30

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360) - $30

Guitar Hero III (Xbox 360) - $10 (without guitar) or $30 (with guitar)

    Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360) - $35

    NCAA Football 2009 (Xbox 360) - $12

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot (PS3) - $20

I'll ship UPS and provide a tracking number.

Buy multiple games! It'll make me happy ;D

  4. Yeah, I watched the first two episodes onDemand before season 2 premiered, but then they took the rest of season 1 off. So I bought this to catch up for season 2. I enjoy the show, although being from Louisiana, it's pretty hilarious/irritating sometimes.

  5. I have no problem keeping my current phone; that's not my gripe. I just really gets under my skin when people assure you of something, and then it turns out to not be true.

Also, it just seems backwards to me. You'd think you would give your current loyal customers that want to keep your business a better deal than someone that has never used AT&T before.

Anyway, what you say is definitely true. It's not going to kill me to keep my current phone. And if the past is any indication, by the time I am upgrade eligible, the phones may be even cheaper.

  6. They're not pissed that there's a new iPhone, though. That was more or less known. What people are mad about is that when the iPhone 3G came out, iPhone customers were able to pay the subsidized price to get a new 3G, even though their contract was not up. With the iPhone 3GS, they're not allowing iPhone 3G owners to upgrade at the subsidized price.

Exactly. I had to use my upgrade since my wife's phone was stolen, so I upgraded to the 3G and gave her my EDGE iPhone. But before doing so, I asked a couple sales people "Will I still be able to upgrade to the newer version whenever it comes out, even if I'm not technically upgrade eligible?" Of course they assured me I would; but now I know why. They wanted me to buy a new phone that day.

Now, a little over a year later, AT&T is basically turning away people that want to spend $200-$300 to upgrade and extend contracts in hopes that they can instead convince them to pay $399-$499 since they're not upgrade eligible. FUCK THAT.

Plus I have to imagine that turning away those people is affecting the commissions of sales people. I bet it pisses them off too.

  7. theres this pizza joint around here, not sure if its houston only, called BJ's Brewery. they brew their own beer and make an amazing chicago deep dish pizza.

Really? Never heard of it. Where is it?

I'm a big fan of pepperoni and feta. Occasionally I'll go all out with pepperoni, sausage, jalapenos, peppers, onions,.

There is a place in Baton Rouge that would do cajun/seafood pizzas. They had one with crab that was great.
