Escapist Records are excited to announce that we will be releasing a limited edition 7” in conjunction with the label’s ten-year anniversary show taking place this August. The 7” will feature two exclusive songs limited to the release. Ohio-based Reverse The Curse will contribute an acoustic version of the song “Carer” on the a-side. The original version of the song was released on the Existent LP earlier this year. The b-side will contain a brand new song from My Mouth Is The Speaker titled “A Glimpse of Comfort.” This will be the first new material from the Akron-based group since their 2014 EP, In Focus. The release will be limited to 200 copies on random-colored vinyl and will be available free with a ticket purchase to the show while supplies last. The ten-year anniversary show takes place Friday August 14th at The Foundry in Lakewood, OH. Bands confirmed to play include Foxfires, Reverse The Curse, Sleeping Weather, My Mouth Is The Speaker, Harvey Pekar, Spill, and Wasted Blood, with more announcements to come.

Pennsylvania’s Placeholder melds melodic punk and grunge as they continue to build on an impressive catalog. The band’s latest output will please fans of Jawbreaker, Nirvana, Samiam, and Silverchair. Placeholder pay homage to one of their influences with a cover of Nirvana’s “On a Plain” Sleeping Weather, hailing from Colorado, meanwhile fuse 90’s emo with a rock and roll twist. These two new offerings draw equal influence from Hot Water Music, The Casket Lottery, The Replacements, and The Promise Ring. Sleeping Weather take on Neil Young’s classic “Rockin’ in the Free World” as a bonus cover. All vinyl comes packaged with a digital version of the split.
