I think the new sequencing works because they are all songs I was already familiar with that got added into the mix. With Riverdales - Phase 3, I had never heard those songs prior to hearing them on the record and it was jarring at first. This is more familiar and I think it works really well.
Totally agree.

^ I'm with hickey.
Also, Fidatevi is a great fuckin record zak, you should re-visit it...I had to do the same myself at one point.
I'm going to have too I guess but I thought that record was terriblethe first time around.

On first listen, I think this version sounds more like all of the other SW records. I have always thought that what made TVCD and Major Label Debut stick out is that they sounded completely different from all of the previous SW records both production wise and with a much faster, angrier sound. But I think the new production and mastering suit this record pretty well. My only complaints on first listen are that the second guitar "solos" seem to be pushed to the background where I thought that they were important to the the original versions (Speed of Mutation and We Are the Generation X in particular.) The other issue I have is that "My Own World" sounds out of place on the record. It sounds like it should've been on Ben's first solo record (which is easily the low point in his career in my opinion). But it really think that the sequencing of the new songs works well aside from "My Own World" and I usually can't stand plugging songs in between original song orders on LPs. I also think that the new artwork is unnecessary and after the amazing cover that guy did for "Tarantula" is a major disappointment. Apparently, I just reviewed this. By the way, it was on red vinyl.

I got the SW record today and am about to listen to it, but I haven't seen one post in this thread about what the record actually SOUNDS LIKE. It looks cool and all, but I'll try to spark a discussion about the new sequencing and mastering and maybe someone who opened theirs can chime in.

Fun fact: I've seen this record and the 2xLP comp. in person and know what colors they're on.
How many PM's do you have in your inblx right now?

Just wanted to bump this thread... Show is tomorrow and i believe it will be a fund raiser for Richard Knowinski's wife (we has the guy that started stiff pole records and passed away in july).
There was a pretty good article on stiff pole records this morning in the Tampa Tribune.
I think it is the Pink Lincolns, No Fraud, GoToHells, and i heard something that the spears might play some songs too. i dont know but it should be fun.
do you have a link to the article?

Thelema[/i] EP seemed to be kind of divisive. I saw it as a natural progression of their sound and I love it, but I know plenty of people who didn't really dig it.
Easily my favorite.

Hopefully they do it right and include all of the songs from each record.
-
if they all end up being picture discs I'm going to freak out.
-
Not a crucial want but may trade for one of the Modern Action records, check my list.
-
that's most likely a European reissue and not an original version. but yeah, the original LP version is available.
This is what I meant to say, the original LP version, not the original press.
cool, I'll just grab this.
-
way to ruin a perfectly good repress by junking it up with tons of shitty songs that don't have anything to do with the original LP. Let the original LP stand on it's own and make it financially accessible.

nope, it's called "knifed". It sounds a lot different than any of their other stuff.
-
also, not sure if you know that a Minds 7" came out on plastik idol after they broke up.
-
try the terminal boredom mb for stuff like this, you'll have better luck there.
-
I wish someone would post On Deaf Ears on vinyl instead of a 7" I already have 2 different copies of.

rab75, your Briefs and Cute Lepers collections make me happy and angry at the same time. You've got a few things I've been looking for forever.
What do you need?
I've really been after the Gary Glitter 7" on Blue, that's only the second copy I've ever seen. I also need the puzzle version of Singles Only and the French Yellow cover of Sex Objects.
