On the Twin Peaks discs; they're mastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at QRP. That's where the original edition was pressed, so I assume these are literally just a repress with fancy colors and packaging. If Threnody isn't corrected that's a shame. I'm not Mondo basher but, big meh from me.

If this ain't news to anyone bear with me: when I pre-ordered Silent Hill 2 I picked Mondo's second shipping option which was like, double  the cost of what they call "vinyl shipping" which is just media mail. Their faq says they use media and priority, so I figured at $10 (which is about right for Priority) they would send it that way. I got my shipping confirmation on monday and according to tracking, it's just media mail. Either they messed up, or advertise and charge for two different methods but use media mail no matter what one picks. Media is NOT $10 for a single record.

I messaged them on monday and while Mondo is usually quick to respond it's now wednesday and not a peep. Sure it's $5 overcharge but I still think that's a crummy thing to do. If they're only gonna ship media mail don't even entertain customers with an option that's double cost and still media.

To each their own but I feel that the new one fails to even live up to the first one, which compositionally and narratively is pretty brilliant.

You got that moment frozen in time of Harry's crashed Jeep, the moment that started it all. The backcover showing his footprints in ash away from the crash completes the narrative. Then inside it's the final boss. Like, everything about it is an exercise in the series brand of minimalism in regards to advertisements, namely cover art. The art itself is wonderfully done too.

With 2 you have a "protagonist's back turned to the viewer" with Maria's floating face up above him. It does nothing narratively or aesthetically in line with anything about the series. It's like a Hollywood blockbuster or action game cover applied to characters that've never been depicted that way. The art itself isn't exactly bad per-se, it simply doesn't work here nor add anything to it. The back cover is better but it's a typical monster focus shot. Pyramid Head getting gatefold placement is perfect but in comparison to the first's last boss it's just really, really mundane. I mean it LOOKS the part. But it's got no mood or soul in it.

I wish they'd went with something different for Silent Hill 2's cover. It's another "main character's back to the viewer" composition. Probably what Konami wanted tho.

I could have sworn their initial announcement covered the original trilogy. It covered Symphony of The Night as well and that is still MIA.

Hopefully they got the swapped tracks at the end of JP fixed, and getting it pressed somewhere else besides Rainbo this time.

Has Mondo dropped any info about future Silent Hill releases? We're nearly a year out from the first one and not a peep on more since.

I can't wait to add some furry music to my collection. I'm not being ironic by the way.

It's jarringly different, there's not nearly as much power in the performance. It's totally off. When you'll listen you should notice.

So apparently the wrong version of Threnody ended up on the soundtrack. I reached out to Rhino last week but they have yet to get back to me. For those curious, the one used in the show and credited on the package is this one:

Some might not care but it's pretty disappointing to me, the power of the performance Lynch picked is all but lacking in the version they included. I'd say since the right track was credited it was likely an error however. Whether or not it will ever be addressed is anyone's guess.

I pre-ordered a plain copy from Amazon, it never shipped and they're showing "arriving tomorrow." Guess there's been a delay overall or it's just another Amazon problem! lol

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear before and spoke a lil too fast, iam8bit used GZ for a few of their titles I've been interested in. Off the top of my head Undertale was pressed there and I THINK Hyper Light Drifter correct me if I'm wrong. Also,  really surprised it's an MPO cuz I've had nothing but good experiences with them so far.

I don't know about that, I'm losing patience with Mondo using Rainbo to press stuff.  They've got such sloppy quality control.

Amazon's release date just changed from Oct. 30th to "temporarily out of stock." My prime order still says arriving the 30th, but I'm crossing my fingers it'll be here sooner on account of the status change and all.

What would y'all do when the postman themself loses a package you had picked up? Back in August I sold something on eBay and scheduled a pickup for it. The mailguy picked it up and it never got scanned, and the buyer never got it. Had to refund them of course. 3 calls to the post office and each time they were like "he says he picked it up, it probably got misplaced or was just never scanned, it should be delivered." October is here and it's still in complete pickup limbo.

I don't even think I can file a claim because it never technically entered the postal service.
