Record Grouch is fantastic, and a very short walk from Academy Records on Oak Street.
And both are close to Peter Pan donuts if you're so inclined.
I'll hit the grouch for sure. Peter Pan has to be better than Voodoo Donuts.

I saw these guys play with Marissa Nadler and Muscle and Marrow at the Doug Fir a couple of months ago. Not a bad show, although I think I was far to sober to really appreciate it. I'm curious enough though to see what the sound is like with members of GSYBE, namely on drums and strings.

Anything good that's left is in Brooklyn. You can hit five or so good shops all within a few blocks in Greenpoint.
Take the E to the G. It'll take you 30 minutes.
Go to Record Grouch for sure.
Thanks, much appreciated.

Visiting there this weekend, any good recommendations? Looking for obscure vinyl from the 80's to current, Rock and alternative, for the most part. Walking distance in Chelsea would be ideal, but will make the trip outside of that area if anything is really recommended.

Yeah, just a warning, I just got attacked by malware after clicking the secretly Canadian link on the secret distribution site. After a quick shut down, I think I'm alright but I'm not going to give my money to a site that at best doesn't care about the security of their site, or it's customers.

Stoked, but couldn't bring myself to buy the prints and slipmat.

Finally received mine yesterday. Unfortunately, it arrived dog eared. Arranging to send back, get a replacement. Also interesting, no live DVD, but a To Be Kind poster was included.
Bongload Records Anniversary Presses Available now - Beck and Elliott Smith

Are the Elliott albums that much better sounding than the original pressings for someone with an average ear? I'm wondering if they are that much better or if this would just be a collectors play with the limited nature of them. I have the originals, or pressings within the first couple of years and am not sure I want to fork out $40+
