  1. Our second release has been on sale for a few days now. All the box sets are sold out. We still have a few variants left as well as a bunch of regular copies. www.flippinrecords.blogspot.com Official Release Info: Flippin Records is excited to announce our second single featuring "Fever" by The Nimbus of Austin Texas! We are offering 3 different variations of this release, Transparent Blue (limited to 200), Blue/White Marble (limited to 75), and Transparent Blue with White Splatter (limited to 35). To top it off, The Nimbus hand signed 42 art prints that will be inserted into random orders! Every copy of FLIP002 will come with a digital download code for the single. We also assembled a limited edition of 13 very special box sets for those completists out there! Each completist set will come in its very own “Analog Cloud Storage System” (hand painted, numbered and designed by Martin McCreadie of The Nimbus). The set will include all 3 variations of the release as well as a Test Pressing, Marbled Promo, Signed Art Print, and an Original Multimedia Art Collage hand made by Martin McCreadie which is exclusive to the completist set! As an added bonus, all completist sets will ship with an extra Transparent Blue copy so you don’t have to break the seals inside the book, unless you really want to! "The Nimbus’ own take on electronics drenched rock music is stylistically, in turn, steeped in the 80s new wave and gothic styles, with clear dramatic vocals over layers and layers of melancholy electronics, heavy thudding beats and droning guitars." - The Deli Magazine, Austin
  2. Test pressings are in for the second release and sound great! We thought this would be a good time to dig up the last few remaining items from the first release and hold a contest in order to make room for the second release. This is the last copy for most of these items, so this could be your last chance to grab these, before they are gone for good. Check out the contest over on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/flippinrecords
  3. We are now on Twitter @FlippinRecords. We just ran a contest over there and will be doing another shortly, once our second release is back from the presses. Follow us on Twitter for info on that as well as release information and future contests. Lastly, we also have updated our logo. Head on over to facebook or Twitter to check it out and let us know what you think. www.facebook.com/flippinrecords www.twitter.com/flippinrecords

  10. Plans right now are only for 7" releases. This slip mat is also specific to this release and designed by the signer of the band. It will be sold seperately as well as in the 7" box set, so a 12" mat didn't make sense at this point. There will be 12" mats later on..
  11. Thanks! We are not so much trying to flaunt how collectable things are. The numbers of each release weren't there to try and make everything seem super rare, I just like knowing how many of each there is when I buy something. I appreciate the kind words. We are more trying to get the word out there of our label right now. I don't want to drop a release in a week or so and only have 10 people who know about the label. I am hoping to spread the word now in order to help with hits once the sale does drop. Good to hear things are going well for you now. We just got a bunch of records from the pressing plant, so look for a sale very soon. We are giving away a few copies right now....
  12. There have been test pressings sold (and still on sale) as well as some promo copies given away. Ben's site has a link to the band on the release......and so does google The standard records should be on sale in a week or two when they are in from the pressing plant.
  13. Haha, well the name is not meant to mean flippin in that context, but I can see your point there.. I am not one to support the "flipping" of records in the context of people buying just to resell at higher prices on the secondary market, but I have beaten a dead horse too many times on that issue. As far as the logo, it is meant to look similar to the arm inside a jukebox that controls the movement of records once one is chosen... ps: thanks for the "welcome hazing".. haha
  14. Update: Due to the limited availability of the releases, we have been asked by some people if there is a mailing list to join that will notify subscribers when items go on sale. Ask and you shall receive.... Send an email to [email protected] to join our mailing list. We will send out emails regarding new items and events as they happen. Thanks again for the support. Keep an eye out for our first release very soon!

  16. We are an independent record label that strives to release new, fresh and entertaining music. Our goal is to expose talented artists to new fans and help music enthusiasts find something they might not have known about. The name Flippin Records has a few meanings in today's music market... "This side is over, time to flip it!" "I bought this record to flip on ebay!" or "Check out this flippin awesome record!" We just want everyone to have fun with their purchase! Our releases will be limited and never pressed again, so when they are gone, they are gone... unless someone decides to flip a copy later on! We offer audio recording in or around Omaha, NE utilizing a fully portable studio. However, we offer analogue mixing/summing services to anyone that can provide multi tracks. We also offer logo and poster design as well as animation and video editing. Please visit http://flippinrecords.blogspot.com/ for examples and more information. https://www.facebook.com/flippinrecords/timeline
  17. There are only a few of the TP's left. Thanks to all of those who have sent their support either through PM's or purchasing merch from the label.
  18. Flippin' Records is getting ready to release a single from Jonny Halifax and the Howling Truth. They have released 10 copies of the test pressings as part of a secret sale. Get one before they are gone.. http://flippinrecords.blogspot.ca/p/secret-sale.html
  19. http://flippinrecords.blogspot.ca/ Flippin Records is proud to announce that our first release will be a single for the track Fever Rising by Jonny Halifax and the Howling Truth! Birmingham-born Jonny Halifax (vocals, lap steel, harmonica, rhythm machine) and musical partner Marvin (illustrator and painter Martin Kingdom, who tackles guitar and percussion) conjure an unholy brew of Suicide, Captain Beefheart and sonic drone on "Fever Rising", which is taken from their monolithic 13-track album on Greasy Noise, "The Bestial Floor", and features Mark Lanegan collaborator Duke Garwood on free jazz clarinet. "The Bestial Floor" comes across as akin to prime Black Sabbath re-tooling the Delta blues in a deserted Black Country steelworks, with Hammer horror cinematography. The album was titled after a line from "The Magi" by the poet WB Yeats, a member of Aleister Crowley's Order of the Golden Dawn, and follows on thematically and sonically from Jonny's lauded debut full-length outing, "Invocation of the Demon Other", released under the moniker Honkeyfinger some five years back, and last year's cassette-only, litho-clad "Beasts" EP… So what has TAFKAH (The Artist Formerly Known As Honkeyfinger) been doing, apart from working as a film editor with the likes of Julien Temple and hunkering down alongside Marvin in The Howling Truth's sonic bunker, which is chockfull of vintage synths, fuzz machines, valve amps and more aural weapons of choice? Well, the stylishly disheveled duo have hit the road across the UK and Europe, melting minds and faces while touring with the likes of The Jim Jones Revue and Captain Beefheart's Magic Band, and also stormed such festivals as Trip Out (Bedfordshire) and Simon Says (Leicester). Along the way, they've recruited such stellar fans as Tom 'Son of John Peel' Ravenscroft (BBC Radio 6), former Ride linchpin Mark Gardener (who mixed "The Bestial Floor") and the aforementioned Lord Yatesbury. Jonny also found time to contribute to albums by Orange Goblin and Andrew Weatherall's Two Lone Swordsmen, and he's also about to play on a set by Baby Godzilla. Vive le Rock magazine described "The Bestial Floor" as "an unholy amalgam of minimalistic industrial noise crossed with acid blues and psychedelic punk", stating "it's patently obvious that this is a debut of colossal proportions" and mentioning Al Jourgensen, Jon Spencer and Nine Inch Nails fer good measure. That's a pretty good encapsulation of the primal appeal of "Fever Rising" and its parent album, but for the full effect, just press play or drop the needle to conjure the best nightmares you've never had... www.thehowlingtruth.com/ FLIP001 includes the previously released track Fever Rising and an unreleased instrumental track The Sloth. This release has it all: variant vinyl, hand printed variant covers that are meant to be unfolded and framed, slipmats, buttons and a completest box set! Here is a more detailed list. The variant edition will be on bong colored vinyl! (US limited to 40, UK Limited to 35) The standard edition will be on random colored vinyl! (US limited to 140, UK limited to 60) Jonny hand printed a special edition cover that was meant to be unfolded and framed as a piece of art! There is an edition of 10 flat stock covers that will ship rolled (without vinyl, all other covers will be folded.) A signed edition of 14 (4 of which will ship randomly in mail orders!) An edition of 15 variant covers that will be randomly included with variant vinyl orders! An edition of 20 variant covers that will randomly ship with standard vinyl orders! A limited edition of 50 full color metallic backed 2.25 inch buttons! A limited edition of 50 full color 7” slipmats! Last but not least is a limited edition of 10 ”Completest” box sets! These will include 1 hand printed/signed cover, 1 US & UK variant vinyl, 1 US & UK standard vinyl, 1 Test Pressing, 1 Promo vinyl, 1 slipmat, 1 button, 1 sticker, 1 Flippin records sticker and 2 Flippin guitar picks (one of each design released so far). These box sets will be numbered 1-10 and include the coinciding numbered vinyl. Due to the random nature of both color variants, these box sets will include the handpicked top 10 coolest copies of all records! http://flippinrecords.blogspot.ca/
  20. So I can read more comments like this? No thanks. I have better things to do. It's really too bad that so many people hide behind a computer screen and talk shit about other people on the internet to make themselves feel better. It was an honest fucking mistake buddy. Chill the hell out. I read the last two pages on the thread, with all the posts from today and people stating that people were already picking up copies and the first page still said the 10th. I checked all I needed to.
  21. Jeeze. A lot of angry people on here. haha If this thread wasn't so filled with garbage that was off topic, I might have actually found that information. I checked the first page and it still said the 10th, and I have been hearing everyone say they have picked up a copy of gh already, so excuse my ignorance...
  22. Hell, I paid $24.99 for the LP and $32.90 shipping to Canada. That was right from Hot Topic. With the exchange rate, it was about $60 Canadian. Think of yours as a deal
  23. Thanks for the quick reply!! Happy to hear that. I am a big vinyl collector, believe it or not (I only have a few posts here) but I have about 7000 posts over on a Jack White collectors forum and as we all know, he loves his vinyl and limited releases... I have way too many releases and variants from him and most of the time, the quality is not there when it's on colour/splatter vinyl and the end result is NEVER and i mean NEVER as nice as the photos they post online. When I first ordered the first Blink reissue and saw the shipping prices and then thought about it being on splatter vinyl and all the playback issues it can cause, I hesitated, but I can say that they are very good quality for a multicoloured pressing. Sometimes you can get some static or playback issues but these seem to be really good. Better than most I have seen. Also all the copies I have so far are very nice looking...I am quite pleased. Any of you Jack White fans out there will attest to the poor quality of his releases compared to these Blink ones as well....haha -Ryan
