I don't think I realized "Heart It Races" was a cover of the Architecture In Helsinki song. Could be interesting.

I've heard that game was sought after but damn...

I've seen threads elsewhere of many people having motor hum issues with the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. There is a fix that has worked for some that involves removing some set of screws. I don't own one so I can't give you top much detail but there should be plenty if you Google it.

Grado are known to have him issues on certain turntables. But the Orbit doesn't seem to be one. But it sounds like yours was working fine before. Hopefully their customer service can figure it out.
-
Can't say I've had that issue. Which cartridge do you have? I would email their customer service. They are super helpful.

My loser edition is clean. No noise bubblegum pink pop-subversion
Mine is just the regular black version. I tried cleaning the record, cleaning the stylus, still noisy. I even got a new turntable (Not just because of this problem, I already had it on order when I got the record). Maybe it's just a bad copy.

$298 gets a U-turn Orbit Plus turntable w/ free shipping. Probably the cheapest price on the internet for one.
-
Definitely going to at least pick up the standard LP.
On a side note, I just picked up Fear Fun on vinyl and it's got a lot of surface noise on it. Anyone else experience this?

Cold weather always causes more static. On everything not just turntables.
-
I've actually had the same problem as the original poster with static the past couple of days. I've always been a little hesitant to run a humidifier around my records. Is there a certain relative humidity that is good to set it at?

Got some for Christmas and then had some Amazon gift cards
War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Oasis - What's the Story tissue
Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Father John Misty - Fear Fun
Future Islands - Singles

I think this qualifies as "THE HOBBY":

I don't know what's more scary, the fact that it sold for $53 or the fact that there were 39 bids.
I just opened my copy a couple days ago. I should have kept it sealed and could of offered it to the 2nd highest bidder for $52 (Letting him know it comes from a smoke free household of course)

Looks like Insound stocks the basic now for $199. Of course, you know how reasonable Insound's shipping costs are, so it will cost $29 for delivery.
-
So, would a modern amp w/ phone ability around the $200 price range work? I've tried finding used. If I found one, I don't have anyone to repair if broken.
If you're looking for a newer receiver with phono input for $200 limit you could look at the Onkyo TX-8020. It can usually be found on sale for $170.

Has there been anything released to listen to off this yet?

Hello there!
I have always liked the idea of vinyl records and finally intend to start a collection. Would want to start off with Audioslave stuff. Any suggestions as to where and how to start off considering that I live near downtown LA? Too lazy to do some internet research myself.
If you're really lazy, there's always amazon.com too.

Keep me posted! $13 is a lot of money to me, so I live through the recommendation of others
The $13 ones turned out ok. They were crystal clear. My only issue was that each one seemed to be cut slightly different so gatefolds wouldn't fit in all of them. It was a bit of trial and error. I would sleeve all of the gatefolds first and all of the remaining ones would work on singles. They need to be top loaded because they are slippery and if you put them back on the shelf they slide out if they're loaded from the side.

SleeveCity will send you free samples. I checked out their 2.5 and 5.0 sleeves before I bought them and found that the 2.5's were exactly what I was looking for.
Go to their website and request a few samples to help make your decision.
When I tried to do the free samples from sleeve city they wanted $5 to ship it.

I'd like both Fleet Foxes' and Arcade Fire's self titled EPs to be released on vinyl. Kinda surprised Arcade Fire's hasn't been already.
My copy of the S/T Fleet Foxes came with the EP. I had no idea when I ordered it, it was a pretty nice surprise when it showed up.
Edit: Scratch that... brain cramp. I thought you were talking about the Sun Giant E.P.

Just simply meant I wish it was a live album being released via audio & video, rather than just audio.
That trailer got me really excited (except for the lame ass fans)
Got it. The Trampled by Turtles live album actually included the DVD in the sleeve. Even better!
-
If you have Amazon Prime you can get a 50 pack of the 2.5mil for about $17 with free 2 day shipping.
Thanks, I actually saw that literally 5 minutes after I posted that. Decided to try the BCW sleeves on Amazon (people on another message board were recommending them). I figured $13 for a pack of 100, I'll take a chance and if I'm wrong I'm only out $13.
-
Me too. I was hoping for a package something like My Morning Jacket did for Okonokos
I don't think I knew that was a thing (Assuming you meant that the LP version of Okonokos had the DVD). Great live album!
-
Looks pretty cool. Wish it included a DVD.

Got my Ra Ra Riot 7" delivered today from Turntable Lab. Only came in a padded envelope.

Nice. I'll admit my Dr. Dog knowledge is limited but what I've heard I like. I've only really heard Fate and Be The Void.
I saw them open for My Morning Jacket in 2004 or so. But I don't think They were playing it live then.
