i just wanted to know what exactly i would need and what gets plugged into what. im still leaning more towards vintage stuff rather than new. or maybe vintage components and then a brand new turntable. p.s. where outside philly do you live??

ive always bought all inclusive 80s am/fm/cassette/turntable things. but my newest one is apparently a piece of shit. so im going the whole turntable, reciever route. but i know nothing. so am i correct in saying : turntable+speakers+cassette deck, etc gets plugged into the reciever? what do i need a pre-amp for? someone give me the 101

doubt it. i never unplugged them and it worked fine for 2 months before i replaced the needle.

my current cycle has been broken needle -> new needle -> broken needle -> new needle -> static noise lower volume from one speaker when i play a record. seriously, major horrible sound out of one speaker. the other is fine. seriously. who of you can come look at this and fix it? who knows someone who can look at it and fix it? who knows somewhere i can take it where people will look at it and then fix it? FIX IT!!!!

well mostly stuff is NOT for sale. i just kinda posted my list so everyone could see it and throw offers my way if they wanted. also it should be noted that EVERYTHING has a price. so just send me wish lists.

im thinking more along the lines of stating what color a record is somehow so when you buy it, you know. if youre gonna be so insane about pressing colors like crazy and pressing info/numbers, you gotta throw the people a bone. come on!

i can sort of sympathize with the flippers though. take myself for example. i dont make tons of money(preschool teacher) but i do have a pretty healthy record intake. lots of times ill pick up records in order to sell them to use as a "record fund" (usually my paypal account) to fund the purchase of records i WANT but cant really afford using my standard income. which goes back to why places like this are so great bc if i can find a record in philly that i know eric wants but cant find in florida then im able to help him that way. but from a personal standpoint trading tends not to work for me because i mainly am looking for 90s indie type stuff and most of the vinyl message boards these days are geared towards punk and hardcore.
