I'm from central Florida and I've seen many bands like this. So, yeah... Those guys are as serious as a heart attack. Just like the one the lead singer will probably have.

edit: Wait, did you mean are they being serious about the music, or the lyrical content? I'm sure it's both, but I can only hope the lyrics are a hamfisted ironic take on misogyny in metal or something (but I doubt it).

I remember around the time Limp Bizkit started to get popular, my cousin claimed to have beaten up Fred Durst in high school. I called bullshit on it, but he showed me the yearbook, and sure enough, there's a picture of Fred Durst. I still didn't really believe it at the time, but the story has been verified by several of my cousin's friends over the years, so I suppose it might be true.

And that's something that makes me feel good. Just to think that I'm related to someone who kicked Fred Durst's ass.
