ive always been into running and never lifting. but recently joined a gym and have been doing some lifting not looking to get cut at all just wanna see what i can do.
is there any apps to keep track of certain exercises and track reps and weight?
***found an app on my ipod called "strong" you can create routines and add exercises and track reps and weight. seems simple enough and does what i want.
Going to give that app a try later. I usually just use the notepad function on the phone but that seems better. I'm the same, I usually just run but i've been getting more and more into lifting lately, just interested in what kind of gains might come.

Getting the itch to hike and garden.
I'm getting old. Help. -
The other reply about hydration is spot on. It will likely be extremely hot and that type of heat isn't something you want to mess with.
Zion has some unbelievable hikes, some of which aren't for those afraid of heights(me). Angels Landing is awesome - the last stretch has exposed dropoffs 1500+ feet straight down and chains to hold onto. That time of year though, you'll want to be up early before it gets even hotter in midday. Bryce might be a better bet for longer hikes. It's much higher in elevation and will be a ton cooler.
Oh man that is beautiful! Lots of good hiking and packing advice here. I didn't figure out how to pack light until I tried hauling 50 lbs of gear up the rocky mountains in bitter root national preserve in Montana. Pain is a teacher! and some older guy named jim who told me to google ultra light hiking.

Haha. Forgive me.

is feedback a new feature?
Or is it just rarely given?
((asking because 6000 posts deep, 9 positives, and I see people with lots of posts, minimum feedback) -
A guy at my counter is drunk and telling me about copper flowers

Almost fell into your trap and made a horrible joke. You're a tricky one, scientistscratch.

We forgive you, but try harder.

Anyone catch the "Until the ribbon breaks" first listen on NPR?

I think Murder Ballads is considered one of his essentials. It was the first one I heard and I still love it to this day. Lyre of Orpheus / Abattoir Blues is another one I really like. For an older album, I'd recommend Tender Prey.
Also, welcome to the boards!

Kicking Against the Pricks
Yes! Thank you sir. I'm excited. What a story too, that these guys started 30 years ago and just never stopped. That is amazing in itself. Appreciate the welcome, i've been around creeping quite a bit but haven't posted a great deal.
(lol, kicking against the pricks. Hell yes)

He has a pretty massive body of work, can be a little overwhelming. The first Bad Seeds album was released over 30 years ago and they've kept going ever since. I didn't pay attention to Push the Sky away immediately due to the fact that I didn't care for the previous album that much. I was on my way to work and I heard a song of Push and was blown away, I ordered it right there. I'd maybe recommend working backwards since you're coming from Push, but a lot of his stuff is worth your time.
A couple favorites of yours?

I am really digging these Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds reissues. I sometimes forget just how much I love Cave's work and I've had a great time revisiting what's been released.
if you guys aren't listening to Nick Cave, you're missing out
I know this means I suck, but I first heard Nick Cave via the needledrop. Loved it. I haven't really kept up since push the sky, but dudes amazing. The albums cover really caught my eye, and that originally got me interested.

not real, just can't be real

Absolutely love that cover

Jealous. My cd collection looks like a ragged pile of broken plastic

Well. I was pretty meh about this roll. I was shooting some Portra 400 and I much prefer Agfa (it has more cooler tones than Portra). And I really need to get my eyes checked. I missed some really good shots due to manual focus issues. Ugh. Here are a few. Nothing too exciting.
favahhhh favorites. Specifically the beach.

Also, do you mind if I show this to people? It's too funny.

A+ name change
Making weed edibles was always the best. First time I made brownies I went to the New England Aquarium. Ate a bunch and then did bong rips. Got on a shuttle from my buddy's campus into Boston. It felt like we were on the bus for hours and I shouted to my friend "WHY ARE WE STILL ON THIS BUS!?!" And apparently we were still on campus. The aquarium was insaaaaaannnneee.
This sounds amazing. The first time I did edibles I sat in a corner and tried to stop the world from collapsing.
Hah, my experiences after that were good though.
