  1. I always love these threads turn into "these type of flippers suck" but "these people who sell stuff for lots of money are ok," aka the what I do is ok but what others do that prevent me from getting something I want is shitty.

I think the people who buy records they think are going to be valuable and keep them sealed nicely sitting on a shelf are just as bad as the person who buys it and puts it right up in ebay. Really what is the point of keeping a record sealed other to maintain value to sell later or to keep as a trophy. At least with a short term flipper someone might buy it to actually listen to it and enjoy it.

I agree. This also applies to toys, amiibos, actions figures, pop funko figures, etc, they have their own ebay flipping and collector pricing.

  2. Didn't even know this existed. When Life For Rent and No Angel were reissued by Classic Records in 2003, they had plans for both of them to release them as a part of their Clarity series, where they press them as single sided 4LPs on clear, 200 gram vinyl, all with etched b-sides. That never happened, but the test pressings for them still exist and sound incredible. Still need to find the No Angel boxset, but it's insane to be able to own this. Somebody on eBay has sold a few, must have worked for Classic Records or something.

Where did you find that??? I love those first two Dido albums, hope to get them one day on vinyl. They need to repress those.

  3. I accidentally listed Polaris on discogs because I was looking at the listing of it along with what I was actually trying to sell (a non rsd record) and actually listed it twice because I hit the button twice. It was a mistake and when someone brought it to my attention I removed it. Do you think, based on how I view the opinions of the majority of this site, I would have removed it if it weren't legitimately a mistake?

If you don't want to give someone the benefit of the doubt I don't know what to tell ya.

People on the board say they don't care about you and some even hate you , yet they check your discogs sale on a normal basis.  haha

  4. chill out, I'm not against anyone or playing any advocate. Not the first time a company has used that word "limited" as a selling tactic. Almost every copy of Portishead  "Three" has a limited sticker on it, its like limited to thousands. Enjoy the Album , you guys got it early and the price is about the same anyways.

  5. I don't think it was any more expensive from LEX than it's going on Amazon, so... whatever

Amazon Prime members are getting shipping free for $30.98. I see the frustration of all you loyal fans that got it from the original pre-order,  but its very common for products to be re-sold for less, after they are imported. Also, I think in the advertising they were referencing how the old press went out of stock but didn't say the new one was limited to a small amount.

  6. I'm confident that there'll be a pressing this year or the next...didn't they say they were repressing all the "old Mars Volta"? They've got Amputechture and De-Loused. There's an empty spot in the middle that should be filled sometime soon  :)

Also, museummouth, nice avatar and signature gif  ;)

Cedric said that they plan on releasing a new box set of all the albums in the future. He really was against those recent MOV reissues because they were made without the bands permission, they own their vinyl rights. He talked about it on a podcast I listened to, pretty interesting because they fought for the sole vinyl rights in their contract back in 2002, who would have known vinyl would be more popular than cds now.
