  1. Its usually smaller labels that do this.

I think they're trying to get rid of some stock they just haven't been selling.

Hell, sidecho has this sale almost year round, they keep changing the header(now its holiday sale, a few weeks ago it was fall sale, back to school and summer before those), but its essentially the same thing.

  2. Ok...good news: they had them.

Bad news: they cut me off @ 2.

Jhulud....the 2nd one goes to you...ill pm you for your addy...

    Sorry cj...

I asked for 3 and the merch guy said "limit of 2, your just goning to sell them on ebay" schmuck.

So there's that....the show was kinda meh...both thrice and brand new had really weak sets...and the encore was jesse pretending he was in explosions in the sky for 10 min...

  3. So I'm seeing brand new and thrice tomorrow night.

A few days ago I offered to pick up a litho for those of you who didn't get one @ their show(if they have them)

    I need 2 things:

*A rough price for these (so I can bring appropriate funds)

*a list of who wants them.

If they are on the pricy side (say 20$)I can only do 3(inclu one for myself).

    Ill worry about addy's later...

  4. I'm not saying its entirely bad...I do it all the time (jesus if you all had any idea how many copies of dredg's el cielo I own) its just a horrible gimmick...

We collect records yes...but I think there's a difference in no idea repressing axl rose in limited collectible quantities and disney releasing the same movie 3 times with diferent covers and a brand new karaoke track in quantities of billions.

Its not a collection thing as much a greed thing...my store is getting 216 copies of hsm 2....by comparison were slated for 15 copies of simpsons and got 14 of superbad...

People can collect what they want...but there is no real collectible thing as far as hsm goes....its disney's marketing...

I guess there's 2 sides to this coin, but I personally feel collecting something should be a hobbie...not something you go to walmart and load a cart up to get everything...

  5. Ummmmmalot of jobs starting pay in nyc its 12-13 an hour....

You clearly won't be able to afford jane doe...but there's enough positives to make it worth the effort..

    My positives are:

*Every band will pretty much play nyc (or somewhere close to it) if they come to the north east.

    *bars are open til 4am

    *tons of great record stores

*Lots of labels are from the city (seeing as I want to start one and need to learn everything I can..this makes transferring from unpaid internship to paid job a little easier)

So yeah...its tough but totally worth it.
