  1. I'll be doing the nut snip very soon. I've been a single dad for 10 years. I never did want kids, however, my son is my entire life. I love him with all my being but I completely understand why someone wouldn't want kids.

I'm now in a solid relationship that will probably include *gasp* marriage. I'd like to imagine a monogamous relationship where I don't have to wear a condom and she doesn't have to take birth control.

Single life is awesome. I don't blame anyone who would rather enjoy life without children. Just make sure you contribute SOMETHING to helping others, if not your own spawn.

  2. I think Oakland's post hits the nail on the head. I think that most of the arguments in this thread are focusing on the periphery, rather than the problem at the core...that we are much more reliant on oil than we think. Unless we are willing to quit buying computers, cell phones, records (since we are all on a vinyl collector message board), and anything else that has plastic in it, we will need to drill for oil (or find cost effective, viable alternatives). There is one reason that BP is drilling for oil offshore. Money. They can make a huge profit. Wind and solar just don't offer that (at this point).

The necessity for oil in other products (textiles, plastics, medicines, etc) only further strengthens the argument for not using as much to refine into gasoline. Oil for fuel is the main profit for drillers--despite the importance of it in many other products.

  3. As for this whole "solar is too expensive" argument: things get cheaper when they're mass produced. Solar power for a single home is very expensive. Solar for 50 homes in a farm on cheap, desert land, is cheaper. If the country just said fuck it, we're sinking money here, we'll give subsidies like they do to farm soybeans, it would get cheap real fast. Its a catch-22, b.s. argument. It would get cheaper if it were mass produced.

    Exactly. Look at LCD TVs.

    Dear Sarah Palin,

Oil industry has destroyed every aspect of Louisiana's coastline (except oil-related jobs). Pollution, prevention of marsh restorations, shitty landowners, and subsidence rates like you wouldn't believe. Doesn't matter how far in or out you drill. Without adequate contingency plans, regulatory oversight, and reinvestment into environmental projects, you're fucking us all.

In conclusion, just as you abruptly quit your obligations as a state governor I beg you to please shut your cock-holster and quit polluting stupid American's minds.

    Love,

    Louisiana

  4. How does one even get a copy of this?

It was released for Record Store Day.

my labels are correct on both records.

and while we're on this record, i think the colored vinyl is cool but it was extremely lame of Sire not to reprint the original inner inserts. the back cover starts the history of the band and says "continues inside" and there are no inserts.

I agree on both of your points.

I wonder how long the run went before they noticed this label screw-up.

  5. That's right. I have an extra one of these and Virgil graciously gave me the go-ahead to give this to someone for free (postage paid, too!).

There's just one stipulation. I want a copy of Unfun on green. I will pay for it (at a reasonable price). I just need you to find it and mail it to me. I'll then send you the test press.

I know I'm more of a lurker on here but I assure you I'm no flake. My ebay ID is algooned and I'd be more than happy to talk over the phone to set this up.

    Thanks!
