  7. FED UP! - SHEER POETRY CD/LP Review in Quality of My Life Zine. Imagine If 2 LIVE CREW wrote all the lyrics to every band on "NYHC: Where The Wild Things Are". Good HC music with super offensive lyrics, taking cracks on everyone, and I mean everyone. Can't be down? Just stick to listening to "emotional" HC, wuss. WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM

  9. Fed Up! - Sheer Poetry (United Riot) Review in Brutal zine New Yorkers Fed Up! offer up twelve new slabs of ol' school NYHC. No metal. No solos. No long hair posturing. This is real hardcore from the streets. Twelve tracks of NYHC with a strong punk/Oi! influence. If you dig Agnostic Front, Warzone, Rest In Pieces,...you will eat this up. This is fast, unapologetic and in your face. Crucial tracks: "Fuck Your Life", "Band of Brothers", and "Hipster Fuck". www.unitedriotrecords.com
  10. FED UP! - SHEER POETRY Review in MAXIMUMROCKNROLL #334 One thing you have got to give credit to FED UP! for is that they are one fucking tight unit! This is razor-sharp NYC hardcore without a doubt. The nice thing about it is that as much as it is definitely "thug-y" sounding, there are still lots of catchy hooks and guitar bits throughout all the chugging stop/start rhythms that it'll hold tour attention. With their roots firmly planted in NYHC with influences like WARZONE and AGNOSTIC FRONT, FED UP! is not for the faint of heart. Listener beware that there is vulgar language and they'll unapologetically tell you what they think - PC this is not!! WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM

  12. Dead Beat Record Review Reason To Fight/Chesty Malone And The Slice Em Ups- Split 7”. If you like old fashion hardcore with rumbling bass, searing guitar, and shout-out along vocals, climb up front and get prepared to be punched in the face. Reason to Fight roar on both tracks here, including the classically-trained unity anthem of “Dying Breed” and the celebration of the blue collar workingman, “Hard Working, Hard Drinking, Hardcore”. There’s nothing fancy here; just a crisply played, well produced slab of hardcore honesty. Do you really need a review of a band called Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘Em Ups? It’s safe to imagine that you’ll get what you bargained for with Chesty’s mamoth ta ta’s, and you’ll fall to your knees for it. Oh, if GG Allin was alive today-he would probably be a huge mess, but he would also be on the road with these feisty characters. WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM & WWW.PUNKROCKDISTRO.COM

  15. REASON TO FIGHT / CHESTY MALONE AND THE SLICE 'EM UPS EP REVIEW IN UBER ROCK ZINE Unwrapping this prize package really brought out the music nerd in me I can tell you. This is how I remember buying my music when I first got the bug, 7" vinyl splattered blood red in a fold out sleeve plus internal sleeve notes/lyrics and the platter that matters playing at the proper speed for an E.P namely 33 and a 1/3 rpm. Not that there's anything extended play about the music when Providence Hardcore upstarts Reason To Fight and the already uber approved Chesty Malone And The Slice 'Em Ups are delivering the goods that's for sure. By total accident I actually ended up spinning the B Side of this split E.P first and got the three tracks from gutter punks Chesty Malone And The Slice 'Em Ups to warm my ears up nicely, my headphones spewing out the band's brutal mix of B Movie sass and female fronted punk rock 'n' roll like the band's life (or death) depended on it. It's nigh on impossible for me to listen to Chesty Malone without mentioning The Plasmatics. Front woman Jaqueline Blownaparte has that edge of menace that Wendy O had in spades, and on 'Brain That Ate New York' I'm just waiting from her partner in crime Allen Van Hoek to scream "Ichi Ni San Shi" as I'm lost in the sheer delight of the band's slutty musical charm. Rest assured though Chesty Malone And The Slice 'Em Ups are far from simply being a Plasmatics rip off; they just have that same "fuck you" attitude nailed to a post, something that so many other bands get so badly wrong. Of the two remaining tracks 'Quest For Flesh' with its "I'm So Hungry" refrain is the perfect soundtrack to any zombie apocalypse you might be thinking of starting soon whilst 'Panic At Pt Doom' with its pumping hardcore bass intro leaves more than just a whiff of the CBGB's urinals in your nostrils. Now that's an idea for a future Slice 'Em Ups scratch and sniff sleeve if ever I heard one. Speaking of CBGB's the A-Siders on this release Reason To Fight are a band that would have been more than at home playing there. Formed in 2001 and raised on a diet of Murphy's Law and Agnostic Front, the five piece from Providence Rhode Island certainly know their way around their brand of hardcore punk rock and lead track 'Dying Breed' is a solid enough blast to get things moving in the right direction. Dubbing themselves "working class hardcore", the band's second track 'Hard Working Hard Drinking Hardcore' is a tribute to workingmen and women worldwide and actually reminded more of Rose Tattoo than Sick Of It All or Cro-Mags, and that certainly is no bad thing. The trouble is with just two songs on offer it's hard to get the whole Reason To Fight story and where as the format serves as an almost perfect introduction to Chesty Malone And The Slice 'Em Ups I'm just left wanting to hear more of the guys from Providence. Anyway this 7" celebrates music just the way we love it, loud, fast and from the heart. All that is left is for you to click on the links below and get yourself a copy...NOW!!!!!!! 16. REASON TO FIGHT / CHESTY MALONE AND THE SLICE 'EM UPS Ep Review in Maximum Rock n' Roll Once again, United Riot Records brings you a one-two sucker-punch of East Coast Hardcore that'll knock you on yer ass! REASON TO FIGHT from Providence RI and CHESTY MALONE (AND THE CUT YOU UP'S) from Queens, NY, team up on this jam-packed five song 7" EP. REASON TO FIGHT kicks the EP off with two songs that are a bit more straightfoward and mid-tempo and actually quite catchy! The song "Hard Working, Hard Drinking, Hardcore" is an them for all blue-collar, working-class people no matter what kind of music that you're into, punk or not. On the flipside of this slab-o-wax is CHESTY MALONE, and man, they really rip it up! This is actually a "harder" hardcore with some pretty heavy, chugging guitar riffs, staccato attack drumbeats, plenty of tempo changes and breakdowns and vocals that shred courtesy of CHESTY herself!! Overall, this EP has something for everyone, so if you're a fan of HC you should definitely check this out! WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM

  19. THE TROUBLE WITH NORMAL ZINE SEXUAL SUICIDE – “Old School Rules” EP This is another record that came our way a while ago that I couldn’t get to because of too many other things I had to deal with (short term stress, deaths of relatives, etc) until now. Sexual Suicide lay down short fast blasts of vintage HC with loud guitars, fast rhythms, and an in your face attitude. With this as their tools, they sing of paranoia, Internet porn, old school punk, having sex with MJ (yes, the character from Spiderman) and yuppies (in no particular order). This EP (on gray kind of marble vinyl, no less) deals out a style of punk highly influenced by the type they champion in the title track with a snide delivery, harsh yet somewhat melodic vocals and a ton of attitude. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of sake but Sexual Suicide has put out a record that fans of early HC will probably have some appreciation for. (BOONE) WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM
  20. FED UP! - SHEER POETRY LP REVIEW BY PURE IMPACT. This is NYHC with a healthy dose of Oi!, a true blend of a heavier Murphy's Law, old Agnostic Front, Warzone with a little Uppercut feel. Heavy, low guitars with a pounding bass and shouted (but not growled) vocals help deliver a consistent punch. A backbone of tight drums, that roll into sweet bursts propagate cool breakdowns and fist-throwing moments, really holding the energy in these songs. The bass definitely stands out in a true NYHC fashion, adding the perfect pluck to the time changes. This is highly recommended to fans of old-school streetcore or skinhead hardcore that enjoy any of the mentioned bands. This is Fed Up at their peak. WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM

  22. REASON TO FIGHT / CHESTY MALONE AND THE SLICE 'EM UPS EP REVIEW IN JERSEY BEAT ZINE Always nice to give some love to my home state of Rhode Island, and the nation’s most historically defiant state is well represented with Reason to Fight. If you like old fashion hardcore with rumbling bass, searing guitar, and shout-out along vocals, climb up front and get prepared to be punched silly. Reason to Fight roar on both tracks here, including the classically-trained unity anthem of “Dying Breed” and the celebration of the blue collar workingman, “Hard Working, Hard Drinking, Hardcore”. There is nothing fancy here; just a crisply played, well produced slab of hardcore honesty. Do you really need a review of a band called Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘Em Ups? It’s safe to imagine what you will get, and you will fall to your knees for this act. Oh, if GG Allin was alive today-he would probably be a huge mess, but he would also be on the road with these feisty characters. The role of Chesty is filled out (ha!) by Jaqueline Blownaparte (Ok, just awesome), and her snarling vocals are the highlight of “The Brain That Ate New York” and “Quest for Flesh”, two of the sterling nuggets here on this release. The playing here is raw and vicious and must make for a great live show. This is a perfect release for punk fans who do not mind a little humor with their circle pits. WWW.UNITEDRIOTRECORDS.COM
  23. TEARS OF FRUSTRATION - LIVE AT CBGB EP REVIEW IN JERSEY BEAT ZINE This five song release captures the spirit and vitality of the CBGB’s matinees. The urgency and energy of the playing is obvious as Tears of Frustration as a hardcore machine. The raging “Old America” gives way to a duo of scathing anthems, the blistering “Hold My Breath” and “No Retreat”, my favorite of the bunch. The production level is raw and you feel as if you are immersed in the sweat and grime of the club-this is not just a great hardcore act ripping up a legendary venue, it is a celebration of a spirit that is sadly now just a collection of memories. However, wipe away those tears and turn this up loud, for the B-side includes a pair of covers, highlighted by a scorching rendition of DRI’s “Yes Ma’am”. United Riot hits again.
