  1. Hell yeah, shot of Jameson for me, please

    Same!

I once saw my friend take a shot of of Johnny Walker and he slammed the shot glass down so hard it broke. One of the most badass things I ever saw, and in my opinion, one of the best ways to drink whiskey.

  2. I've kept up with a lot of good friends through myspace/facebook that I might have otherwise lost contact with, just because everyone changes their email and screen name, but they always update it on their myspace or facebook, on the other hand, a lot of people I don't like that I am glad to have lost contact with want to keep up with me.

  3. Hockey - GO AVS! need I say more? I enjoy the occasional other sporting event from time to time, but I'm all about hockey

Kudos for getting Smyth and Hannan, and thumbs up for having the most expensive back-up in the league!

    Love,

    A Canucks fan

LOL! Yeah Theo turned out to be a real let down, Budaj is much better than him in the net any day. I always enjoy the Avs v. Canucks games, good division rivalry. Luongo and the Sedins are great to watch.

  4. That was a little sensationalist and hard to read at times, but it backed up a lot of things I had heard about Brummel over the years, like the Hawthorne Heights "manifesto" being posted on some news site, and I've even seen those infomercials with music videos on fuse. Overall thats pretty sickening and scary, I feel a little dirty, the man seems to have no bounds.

  5. what does a tester get paid? and how does one become a tester?

THQ actually opened a testing facility above Rainbow Studios in Phoenix (who they own) and they came to our school (a technology school full of nerds) to do interviews.

But, keep your eyes open on the jobs section of publisher's sites like Activision or THQ, maybe even some of the bigger guys like EA, Sony, or Nintendo. Also see what smaller studios they own and check their sites' employment pages too. Look for "QA Tester" positions. You'll probably want to look for places close to you.

It pays $9.50/hr, 8am-5pm, 7 days a week, and some leads make you write up at least x amount of bugs per day. but I must warn you though it's not a great way to make a living, its helps a little if you're going into the game industry, but you need a business degree to go anywhere useful in QA. My roommates have worked there since January and pretty much hate it now.

The one I mentioned actually quit today becasue he got Motion Capture internship at Rainbow downstairs.

lmk if you wanna know anything else.

  6. My friend who used to be a tester at THQ used to spend all day on his test console making Mii's and having Mii parades becasue a the end of each day they had to erase them all, so the next day he'd start all over again.

Long story, both my roommates test for them, after two months you don't do as much testing as you do more lying around.

  7. Damn ummm a lot.

    Hobbies:

My kid bros. - These little guys keep me going when things get rough, they make me decorations for my apartment at school, they are awesome (they are 7 and 9 btw).

Filming Bands/Music Videos - I used to film and edit shows for punkrockvids.com, I've got about 30+ tapes from 3 years of filming bands

Writing - I like to write, mostly short little bits of prose or narratives, it's very relaxing at times

Coding/Programming - I used to do this for fun but now I want to do it for money.

Hockey - GO AVS! need I say more? I enjoy the occasional other sporting event from time to time, but I'm all about hockey

Beer - not particularly getting drunk, but I love trying new and different beers an learning about what goe sin them, Wheat beers, Pale Ales, IPAs, Stouts, delicious....

    Reading - Faulkner is great.

    Video Games - duh.

    Collections:

I kind of collect DVDs, TV shows are hard because I can't stand having a season without its companions (I bought all the arrested developments within weeks of each other). I do actually collect Godzilla movies though.

I collect video game consoles and games. I have a lot.

I collect Queen stuff (albums, singles, vinyl, DVD, VHS) I have about 230+ Queen items alone

I have stacks of unsellable textbooks I never read (is that a collection?)

  8. I personally hate Coldstone with a passion ever since they put the mom and pop ice cream place back home out of business, plus the type of people who seem to frequent it back home are all the high school kids, not my kind of place. Down with the man or whatever.

  9. Ok, I looked. I have a Numark PT01. Another company makes the same thing, but with their name on it (I've seen it for sale at Urban Outfitters).

Edit: I'm a retard and used HTML. This is what happens when you get used to using message boards based on DRUPAL.

how do you like that? I was always kinda interested in it, it does have line level rca outputs right?

  10. I just got the wizard 12" at their show for $10 last night, Defiance gave them some copies to take on tour in the states with them, I shoulda picked up two for some peeps here but I did not have enough cash, they sold out of their copies of the gold splatter Waiter right before I bought it (poor girl got the display copy people were touching all night).

No one seemed really interested in wizard, everyone wanted waiters, if you go see them on tour (or know someone who is) you might still be able to get a copy.

FYI it's on light blue marble vinyl and side B is blank in case anyone was wondering.

Also several people asked when church mouth was being pressed as I was leaving.

  11. should been doing homework, did these instead.

first one, was supposed to look like a tonearm on a record, didn't turn out as cool as I thought:

second one, simple, showing love for the colored vinyl:

third one, I guess I could call this a "vinyl flower:"

    a more colorful version:

    even more colorful:

I'd like to see if anyone else has anything, I'm not the greatest artist, I just know my way around Illustrator.

  12. except that it's a belt drive, I think. Direct drive is better, I'm told, though I don't honestly know why. It should work well for ou regardless.

I've read several different places that its becasue a belt drive isolates noise form the motor better, but I don't know if it's that noticeable.

Ha I was actually gunna post this as this was my first too. I wish I still had it, I just threw it out a couple years ago when I moved, and I've seen ones in decent condition go for 50 bucks on ebay. Man that speaker was so bad. As I got older I always wanted to open it up and mess with the speaker to make it sound better but never did.

That thing was a trooper, I don't know how it stayed working so long, as a kid you do stupid stuff like spinning the record backwards or scratching it or whatever, just being careless in general. Yet it worked for a long time, that speaker did suck though.

  13. back in the day I used to listen to records on this badass:

1978 Fisher Price w/ built in speaker!

goldie locks and the three bears and rumpelstiltskin never sounded better.

Damn I wonder if we still have that thing. I didn't realize the was over 15 years old when I was using it.

  14. '81 Technics SL-B101 (belt drive) w/ Audio Technica LS300 cartridge, running through a Pyle PP-999 pre-amp

Picked it up locally on ebay for $20, the person actually lived right down the street, the head shell looked like a stereo component melted it or something, but other than that it works great. Eventually I want to invest in one of those Ion or Audio Technica USB turntables.
