  1. No Doubt announced the release of their new album "Push and Shove" on September 25th. The first single on the album will be entited "Settle Down" and will be released July 15th. I'm really hoping this is going to be a return to their early days stylisticly. When I saw them in 2009, they played a good bit of older stuff and also a cover of the Skatalites classic "Guns of Navarone". Also Keeping fingers crossed for a vinyl release of this album.

  2. Oz definately sounds like the best records store in the area, it's just that Tuscaloosa is so far away from Gadsden area. I might have to take a road trip some day just to visit there some day. I've only been to Charlemagne in b-ham, and I wasn't all that impressed with it, both with the staff and selection. I also like to go to Criminal in ATL for RSD cause I have family/ friends there that I can spend the night with and wake up early for the next day. So I guess Oz has a pretty good selection of new stuff?

  3. Bruno Mars and...

No Doubt - Got Tragic Kingdom on vinyl with a t-shirt for like 10$. Couldn't pass that up... My girlfriend always tries to make me sing "I'm just a Girl" when we listen to it. Also took my little sister to see them for her 15th birthday, and I have to admit it was awesome.

I was actually wondering what the value of these are seeing as they're limited to 1,000. Any Green Day fan have any idea? If anybody has some good ska/reggae records or anything I may be interested in to trade, I may be willing to let this set go. I will let you know that on my copy the sticker is torn, but other than that I got them still sealed and have only played them may 3 or 4 times. If you want pictures of my copy, let me know. I know I'm new, so I will let you know that I have all good buyer reviews on eBay. http://myworld.ebay.com/davidrhillis

  5. Got a bunch of stuff in great condition at an indoor flea market for 1$ a piece. Everything is in great shape. Most notable:

DEVO - Q: Are we not men? still sealed!

    Elvis Costello - Spike

Also went to the Third Man Records RRS last month to try and get ahold of the Lightning bolt "Blunderbuss". Instead walked away with:

The Dead Weather - Sea of Cowards

The White Stripes - White Blood Cells

  6. Real name:

    David

    Favorite Bands:

The Slackers, Westbound Train, Green Room Rockers, The Forthrights, Let's Go Bowling, The Chinkees, DEVO, Bomb the Music Industry, The Flatliners, Off!, Anything involving Jack White... Ska/Reggae will always be close to my heart, but other than that, I've got a pretty eclectic taste otherwise.

    Hobbies (outside of record collecting):

I play drums and keyboards, although currently not in a band. Also some videogaming, although haven't had much time for it lately. Also I like to frequent estate and yard/garage sales.

Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!:

I played keyboards for now defunct band, The Modern Men when I lived in Charleston, SC. Would love to play again if I found the right band.

Random things you want us to know about you:

I think the Lillingtons "Death by Television" LP is the most valuable record in my collection.
